I've made a friend

YES, I HAVE! His name is Baxter and I'm told he's a somethingorother terrier - but I can't remember what! His owner is a friend of my mum's and when his mum came to have her nails done she brought Baxter and his big sister along as well. A

If I'm up everyone's up!

HA! THOUGHT THEY were getting a long lie did they? No chance! Since I am now able to get up and down the stairs no problem I have taken it upon myself to be the new household alarm clock and anyone foolish enough to leave their bedroom door ajar is in for

Ten out of ten for persistence!

MRS KASMAN AND I are currently away on a short romantic break (it's her birthday soon) in the lovely west coast town of Oban. We have a room on the third floor of one of the hotels right on the seafront which gives us a great view of busy Oban harbou

Serves me right!

IT WASN'T REALLY my fault. I mean, if people will leave their favourite teddy lying about what's a dog to do but chew it? My big sister, Ruby, had been playing with one of her friends and, as usual, I tried to join in. I was only trying to have some fun b

Old dogs - new tricks!

WHO SAYS YOU can't teach an old dog new tricks? This old dog is still capable of learning new tricks! The photo you see here is a 5-tonne rough terrain forklift truck - and guess who's just been given a licence to drive it? This is the biggest forkli

Sport or littering?

CALL ME A grumpy old fuddy-duddy if you like but some things really get up my nose! I wrote about one of them in my last post Why do people do this? and now I'm going to have another rant about a related but different one. On one of my recent wa

Why do people do this?

ON MY LEISURELY Sunday afternoon walks over my local hills or through the woodlands which border them I often come across examples of sheer carelessness or thoughtlessness by people who visit them. The most common and the most obvious is the amount o

A walk in the hills

OVER THE PAST few months I have been keeping myself busy with a series of photographic projects elsewhere online. One of these involved me walking a fair distance over hill and upland paths I am very familiar with and rediscovering many others which I have

A £3 billion white elephant?

I DON'T NORMALLY comment on politics but this one is too big a target to miss. This is the Royal Navy's newest aircraft carrier, the Queen Elizabeth. Costing in excess of £3 billion and assembled at the Rosyth Royal Naval Dockyard in Fife f

Greetings from Dallas, Tx. I imagine you are quite aware by now that the end is near for P. P. So I want to congratulate you on your 238 articles. It was fun reading and I am sure you will continue to grow and flourish in your self expression as a writer in the years ahead.

I haven't used the new browser a lot. It was easy to just close a misbehaving tab instead of needing to use task manager but I download a particular spreadsheet every day at present and it made that more difficult. Also, I have a speed dial on Chrome which gets me to my preferred pages quickly and I would have to build that up on Avant.
