Pain medication...which one do you prefer?

I am not much of a medication fan. However I often get headaches that won't go away without taking a painkiller. They also say that it is important to treat the headache instead of suffer from it. It is not about tolerating the pain or not, apparently the headache is not good for your brain. I prefer Advil or other ibuprofen based meds. But they say Advil and Aspirin are bad for your stomach, especially if you have acid reflux. I tried Tylenol, even the extra strength one didn't seem to touch my headache. I guess it is not my medication. I also heard that Tylenol is not very gentle on your liver. Then what to take? I guess there's not such thing as perfect medication. What kind of medication do you take most often?

Any non-steroidal anti -inflammatory is bad for you stomach, so anything like ibuprofen, diclofenac, asprin, naproxen etc. you should be taking something to protect your stomach if you are taking any of these for any great length of time.

I don't have any significant stomach concerns with NSAIDs, so I tend to prefer ibuprofen or naproxen (depending on severity) if there is swelling involved. Otherwise, I'll usually try acetaminophen first. I always look for underlying issues too (like allergy or cold symptoms, dehydration, etc.) If a bottle of Gatorade or some water will fix it, I try that first. If I need an allergy tablet, I take one of those before any analgesic.
