Writing Site: Linker Zone
Over the weekend, I heard about another writing site, Linker Zone. I signed up, but am not sure if I'm going to give it a shot. The biggest thing holding me back is that to move to higher pay rates (or "levels" on the site), you're required to make referrals. I don't like that at all. Promotion just isn't one of my strong suits. I hate spamming friends with affiliate links and know few people who'd be interested. Have you heard of the site? If so, are you a member? What are your experiences? writing fopp

I am not interested.
I may check out the site.

Like you promotion isn't one of my strong points. I don't monetise my work, I don't stuff it with keywords and I don't tag it so I'm not interested in this site.

The one thing I liked is that they seem to encourage quality, long-form blog posts, but that's nothing you can't do with Wordpress!

pLike you, romoting isn't really something I'm really good at. Plus, I don't really know anyone who probably be interested. That's probably why I stay away from those sorts of things.

First time I've heard about the site. I will check it out but I'm not too thrilled about the referral aspect. This is an area that I need to improve on.

I have never heard of it, but I'm not sure if I'm going to give it a shot or not.

No, I won't give it a whirl if referrals are a big deal. I don't like doing that.
j2jworkz wrote on February 16, 2015, 11:30 PM
I've been following people who are participating thus far. Apparently it just came back online.
LadyTrouble wrote on February 16, 2015, 11:36 PM
Not my cuppa. I, like many of you, am not one for referring people. I can understand the logic behind the pay rate tiers though.
cheri wrote on February 17, 2015, 12:30 AM
I am not good at referrals as well but there is no harm in trying since I want to see how this can go on

I voted "I am not interested" because at the moment too many sites are mushrooming and I don't want to waste any more of my time.
BarbRad wrote on February 17, 2015, 4:07 AM
I've never heard of the site until now. i'm kind of tired of chasing new sites that my friends haven't pretested. I think the future for me will be in my own blogs and a site like this I enjoy and a couple of social networks for staying in touch and promotion.
MsBiz wrote on February 17, 2015, 10:24 AM
Given that so many people feel the same way about referrals, I think that's going to be the downfall of the site.
MsBiz wrote on February 17, 2015, 10:25 AM
I've never gotten a good handle on referrals. Occasionally, I'll have a non-writer friend say they'd like to write online, but for the most part, referrals feel like spam.

If you do try it out, let us know how you like it...

What do your friends think so far? Worth the time?
MsBiz wrote on February 17, 2015, 10:45 AM
I'm going to start trying to focus on my own blogs as well. Still, I like to have a few of these "microblogging" sites in my repertoire.

If I have time I might check it. But -- referral?! I don't think so... Lol! Maybe that is why it called "Linker Zone". I am not interested just like you in giving my friends email.. it is like some sort of networking, and honestly I am not sure if they can handle big number of people they might end up like the other site who will not pay -- because they can't anymore. God bless. Thnak you for sharing, if you find a good pne like persona please let us know.

MsBiz jury is out, they had started to post, then it disappeared offline and just returned. Seems like it is another beta, rules change etc. right now.

Sounds like one of my MLM reviews to me! (Or something like Tsu, which I was worse than useless at, despite ruby3881 's best efforts.) I think I'd better stay away. I can't sign up half the world to my latest, greatest idea, because three quarters of the world is already too much for me to deal with!
MsBiz wrote on February 17, 2015, 3:52 PM
Hmmm, since I'm already registered, I might wait a few months and see if it improves/changes policies...
Began1988 wrote on February 17, 2015, 6:13 PM
I voted I may check it out...I'm not big on referrals either. I have no luck when it comes to networking (even though I share on Twitter and other sites).

I am a member of three writing sites now, one of which I'm very active on, one of which I'm moderately active on, and one of which I'm barely active on. I just don't have the time to try another right now.
MsBiz wrote on February 18, 2015, 10:59 AM
I'd love to hear how you like it! I haven't had much time to poke around the site and figure things out yet, but I may give it a try, too.
AudreyHowitt wrote on February 18, 2015, 11:56 AM
I know nothing about the site--but I like to see how sites are doing and how people like them before doing too much with them
MsBiz wrote on February 18, 2015, 1:02 PM
I might make a few posts and see how they do just as a public service.
(I don't mind being the guinea pig.)

MsBiz I am not really interested in joining another site, but monitoring other's experience is always good to gauge those places. Look forward to your updates.
MsBiz wrote on February 19, 2015, 12:58 PM
I just made my first post there today, so I'll give an update in a week or so on my earnings/experiences.
nbaquero wrote on February 19, 2015, 1:48 PM
Thanks very much. No rush MsBiz we all now how that goes.

Not interested. I also don't like how you're required to make referrals just to level up. It shouldn't be your job to bring people to a site and get them to use it. Promotion should be left to the site owners (unless you really want to help with the promoting, of course). Just took a quick look at the site and can't say I'm impressed. Their terms and conditions isn't a real TOS (it's pretty much like an extension of their FAQ page). I couldn't find a privacy policy. Also noticed some typos, etc. Also saw the many requirements before you can move up levels. Doesn't sound like it'd be worth it. Couldn't find much reviews about it either. So it also looks like not many have heard about this either. Wonder how new it is? The site layout/design doesn't look all that impressive either. Are they using WordPress?

MsBiz I looked at that new site. I don't know how I feel about it yet. It is too new for me and I think I need to wait to see if it really works. The minimum wait for me would be 3 months. But I will wait longer. These sites are popping up al over the place but they have no substance. They are all copying Bubblews in one form or another. And some of them are also using the same wording on their rules. But this one in particular does not mention where this site is generated from. To me that is not a good sign. These could be just fly by night sites. That is what my gut is saying anyway.
MsBiz wrote on February 24, 2015, 10:25 AM
Yeah, this one does seem a little bit fly-by-night. I may just keep posting there until I reach pay out just to see if it sticks around and lives up to its promises.
inertia4 wrote on February 25, 2015, 10:40 AM
MsBiz I didn't even sign up there yet. I am going to wait. And besides, the site does not seem it is from the USA, Canada or Europe. And that to me is another red flag. I will stay away until, if, it actually works out.
