Light or pale vs. dark beer? Which one do you prefer?

My first simple poll about beer in this case not so much about type but more about color which can also defines the type of the beer but let's not go too deep into it. We've been learning about drinks and food in my German language course/class and for our homework we had to write a few sentences about our favorite food and drink. As you might have already guessed my favorite drink (after water of course) is beer. Dark or red in color. For now let us just concentrate on color and not on taste or ingredients which define type of beer. Just a simple poll because not even I and I've been a true beer lover for some time, can name or describe all the types of beer. I'm still learning about it and I like to enjoy beer mostly after a meal when I'm thirsty and not so much for the kick of it. I can't have more than 2 so I'm not like Andre The Giant, a famous Yellowstone bear or my friends who could easily "destroy" many many (remember commandant Lassard in Police academy) cans or mugs of beer. Cheers! TAJ

Tiger_Armando_Jose Lately I have tasted the ESB (Extra Strong Bitter) at a local pub where I live, and I actually enjoy it. I even have my own mug at the Pub!

I don't actually drink any beer so I can't really vote.

I once tried the extra strong beer and that was my first and the last time because of the headache it gave me.

I like both, light and dark, but I think light is more universal.

Romeo I know, I started very slowly and usually don't drink more than 2 ESB beers on any given night.

Me too, but when I got the strong headache I drunk two only :) Now if I want to drink beer I drink either like or dark, but not that extra strong:).

Ok, I am not much a drinker either, but like to try a little bit of everything, just last week I tried a non-alcohol beer, that tasted like the real thing..

Many times I try nonalcoholic beer but most of the times I find it awfully tasting. I find the dark beer suits me more in the winter times.

Oh those over 7 or 8 % of alcohol are quite different and are usually stored in small 0,33 l bottles. Belgium is famous for those. One bottle is enough since you can feel that is has more alcohol thus different taste than regular beers.
