Is India going to gain from the results of the recent Sri Lankan Presidential elections?

The former President of Sri Lanka, Mahinda Rajapaksa was always accused for his pro-China policies. He has been defeated at the hands of his former cabinet colleague-turned-detractor Maithripala Sirisena in the recent Sri Lankan Presidential elections. Opposed to Rajapaksa, Maithripala Sirisena, on the other hand, is well known for his pro-India stand. Though the defeat is stunning and unexpected to all political analysts, it is the reality. Is it not a strategic victory for India and a setback to China?

The best is to choose a guy who is neutral. It is never good to be closed to any side.
