When Do You Start Your Christmas Decor?

I ask this since we have different Christma s#tradition. Especially when in terms on setting up the and other Christmas . In Norway, we usually put up Christmas trees a week before but in which is my native land, we started by the end of October, which is very early. How about you, in which month do you prefer to decorate at ?

My wife is really enthusiastic about Christmas and, although she doesn't start putting up the decorations and the tree until early December she does start playing Christmas tunes both in the house and in the car. By the time Christmas Day comes I am usually well and truly freaked out by Christmas songs! :)

We usually put up our decorations the first weekend after thanksgiving here in Long Island area.

I'm very, very, VERY insistent that Christmas decorations belong in storage until after Thanksgiving dinner is over. It drives me crazy to see the stores bring out the Christmas stuff in August and September, and it's even worse when I see peoples' houses all lit up for Christmas the day after Halloween.

The tradition in our family is pretty specific: decorations go up the day after Thanksgiving and are taken down the day after New Year.
