Most Popular Music Festivals

Music festivals are extremely popular social gathering places. They feature lineups of the most popular and most beloved artists. They are about more than just the music, they are about the atmosphere and the participants. While many people criticize music festivals for encouraging drug use and drinking, most people actually go there for the music and to have a good time with friends.
Most people have heard of Coachella, Glastonbury or Ultra.
Music festivals have become popular worldwide. In Europe, there is the famous electronic music festival called Tomorrowland in Belgium, or Sensation in Holland. DJ's like Tiesto, Armin van Buuren, ATB, Eric Prydz and the likes put on huge performances. The sets are grand and the stage/lighting/effects are always evolving and outdoing themselves. The festivals have become giant spectacles.
Coachella and Glastonbury feature all types of music, from many genres and a varied artist offering. You will find rock bands Metallica and pop singer Ed Sheeran back to back, so there is something for everyone.

T-in-the-Park at Ballado near Perth in Scotland is my local music festival! Unfortunately this year (it recently finished) is the last at Ballado. Next year it moves to Strathallan Castle.
