Disappointing News
Well as you all are aware my daughter had her first interview on Friday. She felt pretty good about the interview and felt that it went well. The man who was interviewing her told her he would call her yesterday and let her know if she got the job or not. Well... she did get the phone call yesterday but it was not good news. He called her and told her that she did not get the job as all the positions had been filled.
Well being the little trouper that she is, she took this all in stride. She was a little sad about it but is now looking to her next phone call and next interview. I am really proud of her even though she didn't get the job. She still has a positive attitude about the whole thing and is now going to move on from this experience.
Hopefully the next call she gets is for an interview and hopefully this time she gets it.

Did she ask the guy why she wasn't selected? Employers don't usually like to give out that info for fear of being sued for discrimination but it is always helpful to know why you weren't selected so you can make improvements and get the next job.

It is great she has that attitude to carry on. It can take several interviews.

I think it might have something to do with the fact that we won't let her work past 9:00 pm. She's in school so to me school is more important.

Yes I have told her this and now she is just waiting for the next opportunity.

We know the reality that it's really hard to get or find a job now a days, but with a positive mental attitude and determination, nothing is difficult to achieve, let her move and carry on with her life on a positive ways dear, It's ok to be turned down, failed or declined, it's part of life, what we must remember that it's not the end of the road yet, we're just starting and we should look this things as a great experience and not a setback. God bless u and your daughter dear, I hope that she will find a nice job that will suit her skills and line of interest.

Oh I hope she does as well. She is trying to save for University so this is why she wants to find a part time job now.

Aww, poor thing. I'm sorry she didn't get the job. I hope she gets the next one she goes in for.

Perseverance is the key. If she keeps trying she will eventually get a job.

Each phone call and interview are practice for THE ONE. Hopefully your daughter won't have to go through too many and become discouraged at the process.
