Recycled Beer Bottle Bird Feeder

This is a bird feeder we made a while back. We used Budweiser beer bottles to hold the bird seed and an old pallet my husband got at work for the frame.

We weren't sure it would actually work, but we put some bird seed in the bottles and hung it in the tree in the front yard and the birds loved it. They actually ate the seed out of this feeder instead of our regular bird feeder. I told Roy we have birds that are lushes. :)

I took it to the flea market and tried to sell it once. A lot of people commented on it but no one bought it. I will try again some time soon. I think it's a cool upcycle project that just about anyone could make.

Now that's a neat idea!

I absolutely love the idea! How creative! I never would have thought to do something like that!

Thanks. I was happy to recycle some of the hubby's beer bottles. :)

We saw a project on Pinterest where someone recycled one wine bottle and turned it into a feeder and I told my husband I didn't see why we couldn't make a bigger version. I drew up the plans and he made it happen.

Really cool project. Your thrushes are lushes? :)

Yep, and all the other little birdies as well.

Splendid idea. I have a few wine bottles that have been put out in the recycle bin... I am looking at them in a new light. Though I may have to empty a couple more for spares.

How very cool! What a great DIY project! Maybe I'll try that with Coke or Pepsi bottles that I have here at my house.

LOL, be sure to post a pic of whatever you come up with. I'd love to see it.

Good luck with it. I'd love to see the end result.

That is so cool! I love to 'upcycle'/re-purpose stuff.

Me too. I wish I knew how to do more things.

You are to talented and creative to come up with this! I am not very creative at all but if I see something, I can usually make it from a picture.

Pictures always help but I like making up my own designs sometimes. If I can figure them out.

Me too. I always have a million ideas floating around in my head, but not sure how to approach them--e.g. the right tolls to use.

That one is really cool! :) I'll tell my brother to try doing those. He loves raising doves and he has a lot now. Also, he likes to make other things through recycling \, too. Thanks for sharing this. I love it. :)

You are very welcome. If he builds one I'd love to see it.

Thanks for letting me use that idea :)
