An Awfully Quiet Monday Night

Monday night used to mean two TV sets blaring at this hour. The neighbors screeching while watching their favorite hunk on a nightly TV show. Their dog constantly barking and only quieting down at 4am (I think).

It's currently 9:57 PM from where I am. Both kids go to bed at 8. And my parents will each watch their own preferred shows on their own TV sets, which are just a few meters away from each other. So, yes, chaos.

Each one would ask the other to lower the volume. After some time, you could hear that the volumes for both TVs are slowly going up until one of them yells to lower the volume.

But tonight, both my parents are in bed early. Must be the weather. From a distance, I can hear the wind howling and the waves crashing onto the concrete seawall.

The neighbors are mighty quiet tonight, too. Come to think of it, I just noticed that their dog is even really quiet. Am I the only one still up in our neighborhood?

That does sound very odd. . . Parents watching a tv set each yards apart from each other. The Mrs and I are always amazed at the dire lack of programmes on tv, but always watch the same rubbish together!

My mom would get dizzy while my dad is channel surfing. He would hit the remote every five seconds. No one survives watching tv with him when he's in control. Haha

gulp_burp Well, my father watches whatever my mother has on. But he goes to bed early. So there is never conflict there. Me, well, I spend most of my time online. Then I watch TV and that is how I fall asleep. I like quiet most of the time.

Don't you just love those odd, quiet moments? Who needs TV? There's so much more to watch. :)

We watch on different TVs too. My husband has his so loud, I have to turn my up. Sometimes he will wear his wireless headphones. That helps

My husband watches most of the TV in this family, and I work on my writing while he does.
