It is Deja Vu
Malaysia lost MH370, four months ago. This early morning our time, as we were getting ready for our early meal for the month of Ramadan, we were once again awaken by a horrifying news that MH17 was shot down in Ukraine.
280 passengers and 15 crew members were on board and all perished in this heartbreaking tragedy. Passengers were from many countries, Netherlands, Malaysia, Australia, Canada, Philippines, UK, Indonesia etc.
It is very disturbing to see the news that bodies and body parts, personal effects and mangled steels are all over the places.
A close friend of mine, lost her cousin, the husband and 4 teenage kids on the flight…. 6 members of the same family who are preparing to come home to celebrate Eid with families and friends. Her last Facebook status update was from Schipol Airport showing all their luggages and expressing her anticipation and excitement to come home for Eid.
The whole world is once again in grief and we simply cannot fathom the depth of griefs and pains that the families are going through, losing family members in such a tragic way.
I offers my condolence to all the families of those who perished on the flight and it once again reminds me of the fragility of life. Hug your family and tell them you love them today, tomorrow is never guaranteed to each one of us.
