By in Personal

I've been offered to apply for my since they will be opening positions late this year. Some of their employees found work outside the country and some will be retiring soon. So they're looking for new personnel to train to fill up the vacant positions.

This is the job I have been prepping myself for. I took up a Masters in Public Administration for this. This opportunity is very tempting since not everyone gets the chance to work with the agency.

So now I am completely between staying as a work-at-home mom and missing out on a possible or taking the opportunity and providing a better financial security to my family.

I'm exclusively breastfeeding my 8-month-old son and a very hands-on mom to both my kids. I enjoy every minute I spend with them. But I would be a hypocrite if I say that I don't miss working.

My income from online jobs and my husband's salary as a public school teacher combined is not enough to ensure the future of our kids. College tuition fees are ridiculously high and continue to increase by the year. Bills definitely won't stop coming in.

I've talked this through with my husband and he assured me that he will support me whatever my decision will be. I do still have a few months before making the big decision. It would really be nice and timely if the deadline would be after Zander turns one this October.

Oh, well. , decisions.

Like so many things, you won't know unless you try. If you decide to take the job, you could still do some writing (if you can find the time). The job might not work out, or it could turn out to be a wise move. It's up to you, do you take a leap of faith or not?

All the best and hope you find your dream job.

Writing won't be a problem. It's leaving the kids to someone else's care that I'm worrying about. Not to mention, missing out on important developments they will undergo. I forgot to mention that this job will keep me out of the house most of the time, maybe even weeks for out-of-town appointments. So, yeah, I'm torn.

I think that a job that takes you out of town and away for weeks will make you miserable. If it was just a day job and you just had to worry about child care and the days when they're sick, that's hard enough. I know, because I did it. But I would never have agree to any business trips. I did those before the kids, but not afterwards. That's my opinion and you must decide for yourself, but I think it's very hard to leave your kids for days or weeks.

That I know is a hard thing to do. You get used to being with them all day every day, and having to go away on business trips is always hard. I used to have to sometimes when my kids were younger, but at least it wasn't all the time. I think it is important to spend time with your kids while they are growing up, but also I know my online income has gone down in the last 2 years. What the future holds I don't know. I hope I can increase my online earnings again before the end of this year, but so far that's not happening.

A very tough decision. Too bad there couldn't be a part time option for a year or two. Good luck to you whatever you decide.

For the past three years I have been a stay at home work at home mum. My daughter is joining school soon and at the same time I have an officer to work for my employer from the office and get more roles. Although there may not be much financial growth once I do so, I see it as a way for me to advance. I was in a dilemma buthave decided to accept the offer.
May you make the best decision gulp_burp !

For me that would be a no-brainer. I would take the job.
