Impatient with Bubblews....

I don't know why I'm bothered by it all of a sudden now, but Bubblews being down is really making me hot under the collar this last 24 hours or so.

I guess part of it is that I was creeping up on a redemption, and every time I went to check my bank balance or respond to comments on my posts the site would be down for maintenance. Great! And then the site went down when I was editing an older post that I was preparing to backlink from one I was just about to publish. Great on two accounts! I had to wait for the site to come back online before I could submit the edit, and then I would be able to publish the new post .

But how long would it be before I could get back into the site? Minutes? Half an hour? Hours, maybe even the better part of the day?

I finally did manage to submit both the edits and the new post. And I did get to redeem without any glitches. But now that I want to submit a new post? The site is down for maintenance again. Urgh!!!

I just want to say a huge thanks to elitecodex for keeping Persona Paper running as smoothly as it does. Honestly, most days I wish we could take the administration of this site and the earning power of Bubblews, and just zap Persona Paper into instant success! This is the site that deserves to be making the big bucks.

I thought a photo of some impatiens flowers might fit well today, since I am feeling impatient!

Great flower pairing. And I feel exactly the same. I was just about to post my first post today and then baaaam. Offline.

Kidame wrote on July 12, 2014, 3:05 PM

Big up to persona paper it is always running

Kasman wrote on July 12, 2014, 3:05 PM

I have had to hold my tongue many times on Bubblews for fear of being booted out. The downtime there is waaaay beyond a joke. We can only hope that these promised improvements are worth all the hassle. I agree with your summation of the administration of this site - I have already had good service from them and I believe that the administrators of many other sites could learn a thing or to about communication from them.

Anja wrote on July 12, 2014, 3:08 PM

I was out all morning and came back ready to catch up on things and the bubble popped just as I got started. I hope this is just the prelude to their improvements, but judging by my experience thus far, it is probably just more of the same site instability.

Ruby3881 wrote on July 12, 2014, 3:14 PM

Thanks Adrienne! I just got back in to submit my latest but it's on again, off again. When I went to check that the post published to my profile, I got the down for maintenance message again. And then seconds later, I was back in! I think it's going to be unreliable at best, over the next few days...

Ruby3881 wrote on July 12, 2014, 3:17 PM

And Will ( elitecodex ) is always making some change or other to improve the site - and properly notifying us of what's going on too! This is a fabulous site. and I really hope the earnings come up so more folks will invest in it :)

Ruby3881 wrote on July 12, 2014, 3:22 PM

Welcome to Persona Paper, Bill! I've been away a bit lately and hadn't noticed that you'd joined emoticon
Yes indeed, the administration here at Persona Paper is exemplary! From ashley , elitecodex and MaeLou , right on through the folks who had brief stints as moderators, these folks know how to keep a site running well. Updates are made promptly, questions are always answered quickly, and communication absolutely rocks!

Ruby3881 wrote on July 12, 2014, 3:26 PM

Judging from what I remember of the promised upgrade last year, there were some periods of downtime then too. But I think it was more server errors, rather than actually being down for maintenance. They make actually be making improvements, but I've got some doubts about the whole idea of moving in the direction of Facebook. I think maybe Arvind would like to be the next Zuckerberg, and that's fine. But will that make Bubblews a better site? Or will it change it so much that we don't recognize it anymore?

Kidame wrote on July 12, 2014, 3:42 PM

I just can't wait for the upcoming changes, they sound cool

Anja wrote on July 12, 2014, 3:44 PM

I hate to sound mercenary, but I am in it for the money. I know which improvements I would make, but I don't know if they are the ones that Arvind has in mind. As a social content site, it could use a few things that would make it much more attractive to users.

Ruby3881 wrote on July 12, 2014, 4:01 PM

I don't think that sounds mercenary, Anja - well, no more than the rest of us anyway! I do think as a social site Bubblews (or Persona Paper, for that matter) needs to be accessible and the general public needs to be able to interact easily with the content. If a visitor has to sign up in order to like, vote, comment, etc. they'll just click off and find something else to do. That would be my first concern in terms of income generation.

Ruby3881 wrote on July 12, 2014, 4:10 PM

It really seems hit and miss on Bubblews the last week or so. I had several good days earlier in the week, but the last 24-36 hours have been frustrating. Lots of internal server errors, lots of site downtime. And often, right when I'm in the middle of something!

Kasman wrote on July 12, 2014, 4:27 PM

Anja - considering the number of spammers, plagiarists and spinners maybe we should call it an anti-social site! LOL

kelemenk wrote on July 12, 2014, 5:30 PM

Ruby3881 and AdrienneJenkins earlier today I had the same problem, but it didn't last long, however it is down again. I hope they will come up with a solution, however it is not easy to find a better time of the day, because we have people from all over the globe. I hope it will come back again soon. I think I will go back to the habit of prewriting posts in Microsoft word, then submitting.

kelemenk wrote on July 12, 2014, 5:33 PM

I just realize what you have said about the flower AdrienneJenkins I guess I am slow today. But yes indeed very creative Ruby3881

Anja wrote on July 12, 2014, 5:59 PM

Kasman I use Facebook when I want to be anti-social, it seems to be more popular there.

WordChazer wrote on July 12, 2014, 6:51 PM

It's beginning to annoy me too, Ruby3881 . I have lost several fiverr gigs because I can't publish the work I write for them when I go to Bubblews and it's down. Then someone obligingly pointed me in this direction and so I'm now up and running here too. As was pointed out in a comment somewhere, most sites keep a version running when they're doing maintenance. I suppose that's about right, as else how would Google, Yahoo, Amazon, MSN, eBay, Twitter, Facebook etc manage? It's big news when they go down for everyone, for sure.

AngelSharum wrote on July 12, 2014, 8:40 PM

Every time I've tried to go there today they have been down. I haven't posted anything yet.

Ruby3881 wrote on July 12, 2014, 10:00 PM

Thanks Krisztina :) It's very nice to "meet" you. I just read your intro and as i mentioned in my comment there, I'm eager to hear more about your work with special needs children.

cruisincrazy wrote on July 12, 2014, 10:58 PM

I agree. Persona Paper is the site that deserves the bucks.

Ruby3881 wrote on July 12, 2014, 10:59 PM

I prewrite all my posts anyway, but I like to get a little interacting in. And often the site will be down just when (or just after) I want to post. That's prime time for interacting, whatever time of the day it happens to be.

Ruby3881 wrote on July 13, 2014, 1:16 AM

That's a really creative gig you have going! But i can definitely see how site downtime would hurt you at fiverr. It's great that you're able to post for your clients here :)

allen0187 wrote on July 13, 2014, 1:41 AM

The site is still down as of now.

Got to be more patient when blowing bubbles now.

Ruby3881 wrote on July 13, 2014, 2:19 AM

I've been trying to get back in for hours, but it's a no go! I did mention to post and share a link, but now none of my contacts can read it :(

Ruby3881 wrote on July 13, 2014, 2:20 AM

Truly! I can't believe how fast the admin are here to address issues and answer questions. And how much the site has grown in response to user feedback, in just the month or so I've been here. It's amazing :)

Ruby3881 wrote on July 13, 2014, 2:22 AM

I just checked a couple of minutes ago, and I have to say I'm surprised it's still down. Bubblews has had a long history of downtime, but it's usually not one extended block of time like that. Maybe they really are making improvements....

LadyDuck wrote on July 13, 2014, 3:28 AM

I feel like you Kyla. If at least they would let us know for how many hours the site is down we could plan our day. I am trying every 15 minutes but nothing changes and there are no updates on their official FB page. I like how elitecodex keeps the members of this site updated.

Ruby3881 wrote on July 13, 2014, 4:26 AM

I don't even think to check their FB page anymore. It's so rare that they actually post anything useful there, that I forget the page exists much of the time. Here's hoping we'll have access in the morning :)

LadyDuck wrote on July 13, 2014, 5:23 AM

I have checked a few minutes ago, they say they are working on the "great surprise", it is taking longer than they thought and they do not know how much time this will take. Not really useful. :)

nitsbubb wrote on July 13, 2014, 8:04 AM

I think most of us are in the same boat my friend. Something big is surely expected once the site is on.

PenFlavor wrote on July 13, 2014, 8:12 AM

I think I know what the "great surprise" is. Remember when it use to go offline we would see a page that says there's a problem with the host? That's the "great surprise"! They have actually upgraded the redirect page to improve the graphics and now reads "Bubblews is under Maintenance"! I think its a great improvement, letting us know that its only maintenance when in fact there is something much more is going on! emoticon

CoralLevang wrote on July 13, 2014, 8:27 AM

Their credibility has gone into the toilet as far as I am concerned. That Arvind personally told me that he would take care of a finance issue for a friend/colleague, and communicated on several levels with me about that, but has not done so and returns no correspondence, etc. My friend (whom I referred) will no longer write for them, is owed $88 and no one responds. *shrugs* Hard to believe much of anything they say over there right now.

LadyDuck wrote on July 13, 2014, 8:38 AM

I have the same problem. They owe me almost 150$, they promised every time to check what happened, but I never received the money. What makes me sick is to read posts from people, who clearly violated the rules, about all their successful redemptions. It seems that being honest does not pay on Bubblews.

Porwest wrote on July 13, 2014, 9:02 AM

I like your idea. One thing about Bubblews lately is that it just seems so laden with errors and weird happenings, I don't know what they are doing anymore.

Paula76 wrote on July 13, 2014, 2:10 PM

Yes it is still down. And this morning I was able to make one post I checked my bank it never moved stayed the same. One minute my post was gone the next it was back. The site was going crazy

jeanena wrote on July 13, 2014, 5:44 PM

I am hoping this down time is just a prelude to the new changes that are supposed to be coming this month.

WordChazer wrote on July 13, 2014, 6:01 PM

Thanks! Wait till you hear about the latest though - when I'm just done reading and commenting I'll post an update if I can before the machine goes pop - presently it does not want to know about making sounds or playing videos so I need to update it before it falls over completely.

SandraLPetersen wrote on July 13, 2014, 7:23 PM

I requested redemption of the first $50 I was supposed to have earned on June 26th or 27th. It took me from January 1st to that time to get to that point. To date, I haven't received the earnings. I just sent a note via the contact form they have on the site but now I'm wondering if they'll get back to me on it at all. I had the beginning of a series on lighthouses started on that site. Now I'm thinking I'm going to forget about posting anything until I see the money or run out of patience. Thank God for the transparency of Persona Paper! There are honest writing sites in the world after all!

vserrao1 wrote on July 13, 2014, 8:41 PM

Hopefully, they are going to get rid of spammers and plagiarizers in Bubblews.

Ruby3881 wrote on July 14, 2014, 12:10 AM

Coral, there is someone in MA's Bubblews group that had some success advocating for other users. You might want to see if she can help with your friend. I do agree though, the site's credibility suffers when honest users don't get paid and can't get any answers. It's another example of a choice that if not remedied, will lead to the site's eventual downfall.

Ruby3881 wrote on July 14, 2014, 12:15 AM

I had no idea they owed you, Anna! I know there were issues with several other of the respected and honest Bubblers too. Yes, it is sad to see all the violators and potato posters bragging about big (and frequent) cashouts. Something really has got to change....

Ruby3881 wrote on July 14, 2014, 12:22 AM

That's just awful! I hope they get back to you. Do keep in mind that redemptions are taking around 18-21 days now (now the 7 days they promise.) You're still within the average window, and will likely get paid in a day or two. If you don't hear by 28 days, do email the Assistant account. Not that you can access the info now, but I have a post with all the necessary info at http://goo.gl/AICqI5. I don't generally link to content in comments like this, but you really have to follow their protocol to get any kind of response. Good luck!

Ruby3881 wrote on July 14, 2014, 12:23 AM

Honestly, I doubt it. They went through a big buildup like this last summer and ended up changing a few minor details on the profile page.

Ruby3881 wrote on July 14, 2014, 12:32 AM

I think your theory is more realistic than many! It would be great if things really were fixed and updated after all this fuss. But their track record has taught us not to expect much :(

cm_ang83 wrote on July 14, 2014, 12:51 AM

I agree with you. It seem like there are a lot of errors on bubblews website. Suddenly i felt in secure there. I still have 2 e check haven't receive and i read some articles regard that they still haven't receive their e check after 25 days.

SandraLPetersen wrote on July 14, 2014, 8:17 AM

Thanks so much for the information! I received an email a few hours after my message to them telling me that if I requested payment on the 25th or 26th that today they would be sending out that money to PayPal. I will be watching for it. within the next two weeks if it doesn't come today.

mercy540 wrote on July 14, 2014, 9:45 AM

True bubblews is under maintenance for a long time. I also enjoy the stability of persona paper

Ruby3881 wrote on July 14, 2014, 1:56 PM

I don't know how long you've been on Bubblews, but we went through the same thing last year. It seems I had just gotten settled there, and was starting to get decent PVs, when the site went wonky and people started to have trouble accessing, liking, and later even commenting. I'm sure they'll get their work done soon enough, but it's really frustrating to have a site keep promising great changes only to make the site worse. And when things finally go back to normal, they've moved the furniture around a bit, but the "reno" they were supposed to do? Never got done at all.... :(

Ruby3881 wrote on July 14, 2014, 3:07 PM

I heard about the disappearing posts, but haven't seen any signs of them personally. That would be really frustrating, though! I've been earning even when the site has been down quite a bit. I suspect that's a little bit of luck on my part. When the site came back online it was late for me, but many of my connections were just getting ready to Bubble :)

Ruby3881 wrote on July 14, 2014, 4:01 PM

I'd like to remain hopeful, but it would be so much easier if Bubblews would work on being as transparent as Persona Paper is!

Ruby3881 wrote on July 14, 2014, 4:06 PM

Well that would truly be a dream come true, Victor! But I doubt very much that dealing with spammers and plagiarists will be a high priority for Bubblews.

In truth, they probably earn a fair bit from those people's garbage on their site. I believe that's why they allow people to create one account after another even when they've been deleted two, three, or more times. They know the cheaters tend to post and comment a lot. They keep up appearances by posting their list of warned and deleted accounts, but a good many of those people end up creating another account even before their first one is deleted! So they're earning twice with the same cheater, you know/

k_mccormick2 wrote on July 15, 2014, 11:05 AM

I haven`t been on bubblews in quite some time (as life has gotten in the way) but so far this morning it is working so maybe I might get to bubble a bit today. I am also going to try to post a few more articles to Persona in the next few days. I feel like I have been slacking on my online writing and it is time to change that. I hope that I am not too tired tonight and am able to get some writing done. You have my utmost respect momma :) You juggle so much and still are able to write on most days :)

Ruby3881 wrote on July 15, 2014, 12:24 PM

I'm glad to hear you got a specific response! Sio far most folks have been getting form letter responses (and they tend to be worded a bit rudely....) Maybe this new Member Support guy is helping them to improve communication, after all. That would be a very welcome change :D

Ruby3881 wrote on July 15, 2014, 12:50 PM

I don't know anything about getting paid by e-cheque because I always use PayPal. But I have heard (and this was before the increase in processing time) that cheques were taking a month longer than PayPal :(

Ruby3881 wrote on July 15, 2014, 12:57 PM

I can't say enough about how well Persona Paper is run! The administration of the site is efficient and competent, and users are always kept well informed. We're even asked to participate in decision making. But yes, the absolute best thing about writing here is the site stability and the fact that Will ( elitecodex ) is an awesome programmer. The site offers so many features, and he keeps on adding to it.It's stable, pages load quickly, and what few tiny glitches pop up are always addressed quickly. What else could we ask for? :D

Ruby3881 wrote on July 15, 2014, 1:00 PM

Well it helps that I work from home, LOL :P

Looking forward to reading you again very soon :)

SandraLPetersen wrote on July 16, 2014, 7:58 AM

Sorry for the continued posting here about this but I got a confirmation email about the payment I was due. This is what it said besides confirming what amount I can expect:

"You have just been sent a payment by eCheck. You will receive the money in about 3-5 business days (estimated: 7/17/2014-7/21/2014). We recommend that you wait until the money arrives before shipping items. We'll email you when this eCheck payment has been deposited into your account."

Maybe there have been attempts to improve communication. I hope everyone's money issues with the site can be resolved smoothly.

AbbyBiha wrote on July 17, 2014, 8:56 PM

And now it has a new image all together. Still learning to navigate my way...lol

Ruby3881 wrote on July 24, 2014, 6:14 PM

That's the same email I've been getting for Bubblews redemptions since the beginning. It doesn't even come from Bubblews - I think it's automatically generated by PayPal when the e-cheque is sent.

Ruby3881 wrote on July 24, 2014, 6:16 PM

It does, indeed! There are some positive changes there - I think mainly because they got scared when so many members were jumping ship to join Persona Paper. There's still a good ways to go, but it is improving.

brown-paw wrote on July 25, 2014, 5:37 PM

Ruby3881 How about waiting Bubblews to pay you an amount almost equal to 3 minimum redemptions. It is almost one month now. And the bubbler is patiently waiting for it!

Ruby3881 wrote on July 30, 2014, 6:31 AM

Are you saying a single large payment is overdue? One month is the standard waiting time now, so don't be discouraged if it's a single payment and hasn't gone beyond 5-6 weeks. But if your redemptions are waiting beyond that time, do please send an inquiry through the contact form. I hope with the new setup, we'll also see more effort put into responding to those requests.

k_mccormick2 wrote on August 2, 2014, 6:58 PM

Back to reading a bit today :) I hope that you are having some relaxation time and that the sites are running smoothly today. I am hoping to start writing again on my days off :)

Ruby3881 wrote on August 3, 2014, 3:32 PM

Looking forward to reading some new posts from you today, Momma :)

Torialou wrote on October 23, 2014, 8:29 AM

I am a Bubblews transfer, just come onto here but I hear you with all the issues over there. I can't cope anymore on there. Aside the outages, the moving of rules that are not even written down, the staff degrading users and threatening them, they are also setting insane time limits on payments. I have 3 outstanding, no response from them, all I would appreciate is a response to my polite email I sent but nothing. I dare not send a second one after they said they would ban people who emailed too much. Looking forward to starting posting on here, nice to see some other ex Bubblews users around!

Ruby3881 wrote on October 23, 2014, 9:23 AM

You now need to use the form on the bank page to request staff investigate a late payment. And they are actually asking for us to do this even if a late redemption has already been reported.

Torialou wrote on October 23, 2014, 11:20 AM

Hey, thanks for the info, I read someones post saying the same so I already did that and still no response. Sent them screen shots as well, nothing other than the auto responses. Lost all faith I had, do not dare send more after the warnings about over bothering them. It's irritating, they have a good idea but not enough staff to deal with things. It's nice to find a new site I can write on too though emoticon

scheng1 wrote on December 7, 2014, 1:24 AM

I am impatient to get paid from Bubblews. It has been a long, long time since the last echeck.
