The rains came tumbling down

Soooo, the rains came tumbling down yesterday.

Okay, I'll tell the truth -- I might have exaggerated slightly, since the rains didn't really come tumbling. They mostly sprinkled for a bit and then quit. Sprinkled for another few minutes and then quit. But, it's been so hot and dry, that every little sprinkly bit helps.

The birds loved it, the lawn soaked it in, and the trees waved their leaves in excitement. If it had rained harder I'd have pulled the car out of the garage and let it wash the dust off. No such luck, though.

Still, I'm not complaining. Today's weather is cooler and we have cloud cover. So, even though we didn't get as much moisture as we needed, there is the side benefit that we're not quite as roasty-toasty as before.

Aaaaahhh, Mother Nature. Ya gotta love her ... at least when she cooperates and tones down the hot flashes!

We're getting some much needed relief from the heat here today. We need a little more than just the sprinkles we're getting, but right now anything is better than heat!

The wonders of mother nature never cease to amaze us. We are having a cold July here.

We've been getting quite a bit of water, DorothyGale , but even then I'm finding that I need to water my vertical garden more often than I expected originally. I think it dries out a lot quicker than it would if it was in the ground. We are also getting a bit of cooler weather, in the lower seventies for a few days.

DorothyGale We just had a small heat wave. It did cool off today a bit. And more rain for next week some time. The summer is what it is.

What a beautiful photo. We've been very lucky here. Enough rain but not too much.

We got rain by the bucketful and now we're finally getting a break from the heat and humidity. I can breathe again! I love it!
