Yahoo Voices Bites the Dust

Earlier this evening I read a post by AdrienneJenkins mentioning that Yahoo Voice (ex Yahoo Contributor and ex Associated Content) was shutting down. I have still been getting a dribble of money from there. I am not surprised that the website is shutting down. I cannot even remember the last time there was any communication from the website, or changes to the format. Basicallyit has been dormant since it became Yahoo Contributor. I did write, at their request, some articles for their other content sitesbut I guess those are closing down too.

Tonight I copied all my content, using Evernote. It was very easy and fairly fast too. Then I went and deleted all the content that was deletable. I will wait about six weeks, check to see if the posts are still indexed, and when they are no longer showing as on Yahoo, I will use them on other websites.

I have a friend who works at Yahoo. He told me, about three months ago, that a two year old website, that paid much more than Yahoo, was killing the Yahoo sites because a good percentage of the content writers had quit writing on the Yahoo site. Most of you know what website I am talking about. It's the one that is forever blowing Bubbles. Are you affected in anyway by the shutdown of the Yahoo Voices writers website?

I hope you all have a great holiday fourth of July.

Interesting. But they made it so difficult to contribute and their pay rate was so low.

I was never over there but I know my mom was.

Early on, I didn't find it so difficult to contribute, but I will agree that the pay rate was very low. Once they made it more difficult for me, I stopped writing there.

I have not figured out how to download using the Evernote. Having trouble downloading the program itself.

Javaman That is interesting. I wouldn't have thought the bubbles would affect this but maybe I am wrong. I have not heard of Evernote but I will check it out!

The impact of Bubblews may be more than many realize. I use several tools to pick hashtags for promotion of my old posts. To my surprise Bubblews shows more impact that many other writing websites.

I never did anything over there.
I had heard about it, but never had the time to check it out.

That was a bit of luck.

Yes, that is sad that it went under, and also in November, Bubblews finally closed down and no longer exists on the web.
