Can't Please Everybody

As the saying goes, "we cannot please everybody".

Well, true... there will be somebody out there who will not like us, who will snob us, who will judge us wrongly.

Whatever there reasons, we'll just have to accept and live with it . It may be hurting or annoying, that's life. We can't do anything about it, but to deal with it... not unless there's a miracle emoticon

There's one who added me here as her friend, but days after, I noticed she's not following me anymore. Ahh, ok... maybe I didn't reach her standard. There's another one who I've wanted to be my friend. I tried everything to catch her attention, to no avail. What to do then? No one was liking my post. I didn't log-in for a day or two, when I opened my account again, I noticed a little improvement.

Two days ago, I was planning on leaving personapaper. I've already written an article about it to be posted in another writing site. I thought no one likes me here. A bit frustrated and disappointed on how things are going. Maybe, I was just used to see many likes in the other site emoticon

When I posted an article about my "Grandma's Cream Puffs", I never expected it will be liked by some nice people here. Thanks to them. My heart was filled with joy. Inspired, I started to think of stories to share here. I submitted one after another. I will not pack my back so easily. Not yet...hahaha emoticon

I've told you, I'm not really a superb writer, but I'm learning and willing to learn more. If I will just concentrate intently and read more sensible articles, I'm gonna improve in the coming years.

Not only that, I will also gain some nice friends who will accept me for who I am and not because of my race, occupation or status in life.

Actually, the likes and the followers came after I posted my "Grandma's Cream Puff", which will be my forever favorite article in this site. I'm now enjoying my stay, especially if someone is interacting with me and giving good comments emoticon

charmingchel Don't feel that way. You are doing fine. And remember, Persona Paper is a new site. This is the beginning. It will get better. So keep on writing. I write another sites as well and see more views and comments and even make more money. But we have to give each new site like this chance to prove themselves. And I think this one has a great chance at succeeding.

Many of the members here are also writing at other sites and sometimes they aren't as active here for a day or two as they are elsewhere. As time goes on, your followers will increase.

I think you have some great posts. Don't let the lack of attention discourage you from writing. :)

I don't believe there are many very active members yet. Also, here in the U.S. tomorrow is a holiday and many people go on vacation for the entire week. I don't believe you should be concerned - I don't get many likes either but I'm sure things will eventually pick up. I for one am enjoying this site a lot.

charmingchel You're welcome. I am glad I was able to make you feel better.

Just enjoy writing. Write not to please or to get the attention of other people. Write for yourself. You will be more fulfilled that way. You'll also discover many, many characters who are not really what they seem to be.
Write on...

levis2014 wrote on July 4, 2014, 10:43 AM

It is just ok not to be liked by others as long as you like, love and believe in yourself. Your opinion, not theirs is what matters.
