What a difference a year can make

What a difference a year can make

This time a year ago I had just started a new job. Only part time, but it was a job. I had been unemployed for around 3 years, due to no fault of my own. You see I was made redundant from a fairly decent full time job. All my bills were paid on time, I had my own place and my own car. Although single, I was content for the time being. That all changed when I got made redundant. I had to sell my car, move back in with my parents and began to get into uncontrollable debt.

I searched for jobs and got a bit of temporary work here and there, but nothing permanent. During those three years I sank to my lowest level. I was depressed, lonely and was losing control of my life. Every morning I woke up with that horrible sinking feeling inside.

One day however, I woke up and realised that I was the only one who could change this, and I had to do something about the way my life was heading. The first step was to move out of my parents. Although I had no money to pay rent and would have to claim benefits, I knew that it would give me the push I needed to go out and get a job. Any job, as long as it paid my bills.

That was the first step to what has been a brilliant year......

More to come shortly.
