Breaking News: Netherlands Punish Spain 5-1

The old aged saying that revenge is sweet when served hot has just come into play in the just concluded group B FIFA 2014 World Cup match between Spain and Netherlands.

From this post's title, you can read the score line, but beneath that score line, lies an unsettled rivalry between Spain and Netherlands, which seem to have been carried forward from the last World Cup's tournament played in South Africa.

It is Spain who controversially eliminated Netherlands out of the last World Cup event, and today, Netherlands have redeemed themselves. Most of the Spanish players could not come into terms with being whipped five goals to one, given that they were the first side to score an opening goal of this match.

Nonetheless, no one can ever under estiamte the performance of the Spanish squad, even though they lacked that miraculous touch in their today’s match.

This game has had two memorable men to remember: Manchester United's Robin Van Persie and Bayern Munich's Arjen Robben, who have both each scored two goals to inflict an almost tangible pain on Spanish players.

Did you watch the game? What's your opinion on today's match referee?

i was shocked when I came out of Church this evening to get the news. That was quite a handful for the Spanish team. I hope they got a big basket to carry the goals in it. HAHAHAHA :V

Oranje just got rid of a big chip on their shoulder. I bet they had this match circled since the schedules were released. I still think that Spain gets to advance. hard to see Australia and Chile getting a win against the Spaniards.

Netherlands had a great team in the past, many great players around the world were from The Netherlands, so I was not surprised at all.
