The vastness of outer space gives us hope for future possibilities.

The earth is in a major transitional phase that will be known by historians of the future centuries as the period of the the 6th Mass Extinction Level Events.

We are running out of time. For many now living, it's a race for survival by nations as well as individual freedom thinkers. The date is 04.15.2018 - The Wave of Weather Changes is upon us as a planetary species.

No other time in recorded human history has man actually given thought to his own future, as to WILL THERE BE ONE?

As for Futurepaths, this is a platform of ideas that hopefully will generate positive moves on our part towards the future generations that will come after us. We hold the key to an ancient puzzle, the puzzle of the directions previous generations have lead us all up to at the present age. We can continue to go forward like there's no tomorrow and leave it for our children's children's children to contend with, or we can plan ahead for the survival of our planet. It is hard enough for us civilized and educated and good intention people to just live day by day and conduct business as usual, along with the constant turmoil of war mongering, propaganda and power plays now dominating the current media frenzy of mass appeal.

The nature of man is to survive but I see us faltering along a death race to a point of no return. Already the skies are telling us that the weather is stranger than it's ever been before. Longer periods of cold in places never recorded to the level it has been and variations of climate change that are killing off massive number of animal, plant and human life on a scale unprecedented.

Sure, I can do my part and just not buy things made of plastic or non-organic or non-recyclable. There is a man who created his own island of plastic bottles, sand and other materials who has turned garbage from the ocean and land into a floating oasis of sorts. There are those people who are taking cigarette butts and turning them into recycled plastic to mold into whatever can be re-used for sale. There are those people who are taking the excessive amounts of throw away trash plastic and grinding it up and paving the highways and roads so that their surfaces last much longer than regular gravel and tar and asphalt does. There are those who say it is best to go green by recycling and by not buying throw away baby diapers. It's all good. But we continue driving our cars with one driver and no other passengers, and nobody walks unless it's because they don't own a car because they don't have a job or if they do work, they can not afford the upkeep to drive a car.

People will continue to consume what is for sale. If the manufacturers of plastic, and anything else that will end up in the landfills, the people will buy it.

What path are we on as a human animal species?

We are on a path to destruction, that's what. We are building more cars, more guns, more everything. It's non stop mass manufacturing and marketing. We spend more money on pharma-drugs and spend more time eating fast food that we have created our own feed-back-loop of obesity and addiction.

The future is up to us but what kind of future can we expect?

More from the grapevine later. Take a walk on a future path and rise above it all.

The earth continually changes and unless we do such destruction with a bomb that we move it out of its orbit round the sun, it will probably continue to exist. As for all the species on it, including people, well, there have been mass extinctions in the past and as you say, we may be in one now. Maybe whatever comes next will treat our lovely planet with more respect.

Thank God, the future IS NOT up to us. THY kingdom come. THY will be done on Earth. I suspect you've heard this before?

I firmly believe that whatever trouble technology has gotten us into it can also get us out of but we need to keep a lid on our excesses until that day dawns. The future is not hopeless but (as MegL alludes to) any part the human race may play in that future is far from certain. We are certainly intelligent enough to beat our current problems but the universe may not be interested in 'intelligence' long term. We may simply be a blip in the history of forever!

God wants us all to be respectful of our world. I wonder why it seems to be so hard for so many to get it. Thanks for your very nice comment.

It is my favorite prayer. I say it regularly with emphasis to the meaning, On Earth as it is in Heaven.

I hope we hang around for many millions of years to come. I am a bit vain to our own earthly species. Us humans need to have faith. Yes. thanks for your nice comment.
