Using the New Google Plus Collections Feature (Update #1)

Two years ago I published this post. This post is an update.
Using the New Google Plus Collections Feature
In spite of the rumors about the Google Plus social network going down the drain, etc., I started out testing the feature on my most popular G+ business page (now called brand account) and since then, I have created collections for two more brand accounts and for my profile.
Not only are the collections great for organizing your post shares and retrieving them at a later date, but G+ users can follow your Collections without having to add your profile or page to their social circles. (Hey! Some people don't want to follow you (for whatever reason). But they do like what you share via your Collections. I have a page that has about 900 followers. One of my collections for that page has over 40,000 followers. I'm OK with that. )
Another value add is that your G+ shares tend to show up in organic search results which could encourage traffic to your websites or blogs.
If you get a chance to visit here are the links to my various collections. I set them to Public so you don't have to be signed in to your G+ account or even have a G+ account to view them.

That's very useful Cmoneyspinner , thanks. I loved the Christmas Santa toilet seat set in your shopping channel! LOL And adding the tags into your post was useful too.

I also use G+ Collections to organise my work. I have several different collections some of which are collections of other peoples' writings which I find interesting. It is possible to do something similar with StumbleUpon and Flipboard both of which I have accounts with. No doubt there are other possibilities I am not aware of.

Hmm. This came up while I was doing something with my email the other day and I really need to fully understand and check it out. Thank you for the reminder.

Interesting feature but I am not going to use as I am not as polyvalent as most of you. But I enjoyed reading and learning about it. Thanks.
