I just like to write

Sometimes I feel like just watching t.v. I have spent long periods of days on end watching old episodes of Dark Shadows.

I don't earn hardly any money writing anything at any site online and that is still lots better than just writing in my spiral notebook like it was a journal or a daily diary of sorts that nobody else reads.

The fun-da-mental idea of writing for writing's sake still remains my way of life.

I like to get comments on my stories and such, but I was once getting fed up with the way people only liked things I wrote just to get a like back so they could earn a thousandth of one cent each.

If there is one thing I have not really done is, stick to a story, write it page after page until I have a full length novel or short story or novella.

I do not know if I ever will but I do know that no matter what, I will always enjoy writing my world because it is natural for me to do so

and I enjoy writing for writing's sake.

Happy holidays to all here at Persona Paper. Cheers!

I wish I could say the same but I have to admit that often I do not have time to write or when I finally have time, I find myself tongue tied or rather pen tied and I do not know what to write about. But perseverance is a virtue that I and you (it seems) have in common. One of these days I will start writing something meaningful and worthy of posting.

Getting writing that long novel or short story works just exactly the way you wrote this piece - one word at a time. There are techniques that can be used to get the structure and tools you can use to do it. One way to get that short story written is to freewrite, that is, just sit there and write whatever comes out of, or into your head and flows down your arm to your typing finger or writing hand. After that, it's just a case of editing. I quite like the structure format. Write one line that says what your story is about, then below that write a few words on what each bit will cover, for example:
This is my story about a hamburger
* what is a hamburger
*how is it made
* who eats them
*where can you get one
*why hamburgers are the best thing since sliced bread!

The ALL you have to do is write 100 words on each sub topic. You can add sub subtopics if you want. By doing this, you don't write any more in the day but each bit you write contributes to a bigger "whole"

I like your go get 'em spirit. Nothing gonna stop me from my goals. Sometimes I think we all need a bit more encouragement. These days it would be just as easy to hang out with our friends and play guitar and pretend that we can be content just sitting around, waiting for things to happen or not. I was once like that in the 80s.

Thank you so much for this positive information on developing a focus on topics and filling in the blanks and it seems like a great exercise for the imagination. Have a happy Turkey Day.

Being able to write and earn is always nice. I wish I could write professionally and really earn a living off of that. I enjoy writing.

Just like the way you are. I want to write also. My passion in writing helps me a lot.

This is a good thing. I find that for myself, writing helps me keep the world in proper perspective. I have seen a certain bit of change in my style and subject but then that is what self awareness is about.
