What is the best design for your perfect house?
Garden
As a parent, I wanted my children to have a garden to play in, one that was completely enclosed, so they couldn't get out and where I could see them from the kitchen window. My first house had that, though my second didn't have as big a garden for a while, until we bought the plot next door. When my children got older, one of them wanted a garden pond, so we built one but that's not safe for small grandchildren. My daughter's garden is accessed via steps, so it's not as easy with small children or to get the laundry hung out. So my perfect house would have a garden that is on the same level as the kitchen of the house, visible from the kitchen and no water for children to tumble into.
Kitchen/ Utility
I have a large kitchen in my current house and I am happy with that. It's open, with plenty of cupboards and space for easy chairs too. My only regret is not having a utility room. I would like one of those.
Stairs
We have 3 floors. that's a lot of stairs but I think they keep us healthy!

A pool room with a nice stereo and wet bar. I always enjoyed several hours at the club when I actually used to play lots and lots of billiards. I did say pool room. I meant a billiards lounge.
