A Trip Down Memory Lane at Persona Paper

I guess this is when we say our goodbyes to Persona Paper and anyone here we might not meet elsewhere online. I am in the process of making sure all my photo essays are backed up as complete web pages so I'll remember where all the photos go when I reconstruct my work on other sites.

This process is bringing back memories, since many things I wrote about I have forgotten happened. This has been a wonderful scrapbook online of my thoughts, my frustrations, my business trips, my medical history, and my photo walks. Don't let these memories escape you. For some of you, this may be the only journal you have.

It's very easy to save your pages complete with photos by using the "save as" tool in your browser. In Chrome, go to the lines in the top right corner of the page and click. Go down to where it says "more tools." Mouse over and click "save page as." Then a window will open where you can choose a file to save to. As you save, two new icons with the title of your post will appear - a file folder that hold all the files that made up your pages, including your photos, and the icon for your browser. If you click that icon after it's safely in your folder, it will bring up your post in your browser just the way it looked live on Persona Paper, except the address is where it lives is on your computer, not on the internet.

Just thought I'd pass that hint along for those of you who haven't done it yet. You wouldn't want to lose all your hard work. Even if our administrators send a file of your work here, it might not be in a form that is easy to use. That was sure the case with what Squidoo sent. Better safe than sorry.

I will miss meeting all of you in our special place here. I'm going to suggest that in your comments you put your user names from any other sites you are on so that we can find you wherever you are in cyberspace. I can be found under my name, Barbara Hart Radisavljevic, on Facebook . My Google + page will have links to most of my important work on other sites if you check the About Me" tab. On myLot I'm bagarad. On Hubpages I'm both barbrad and wannabwriter.

Where can you be found and under what names? I don't know if links are allowed in comments, or it anyone will still care if you put them there.

Remember to copy the contact information from the comments. Comments aren't saved when you save this as a web page. That's too bad, since sometimes the comments are the best part. You might want to keep copies of the ones than might have turned into posts.

So ends my swan song here. I'll be checking in as long as the site is still open.

I just right click on the post and then click save as.
Don't you have to delete them also after saving?

Why should I delete them? They will go away on their own soon anyway.

That's a useful bit of information about saving pages. I didn't know that! Thank you.

Thank you for listing your other sites and names.

After the crash and burn of Epinions and the unmentionable site, I've written and saved all my reviews in Word. I'm presently msiduri at MyLot. Best wishes to you and everyone.

bestwriter wrote on January 31, 2016, 6:58 PM

What about those who want to use them right away?

BarbRad wrote on January 31, 2016, 11:31 PM

I have two blogs, www.allsortsartbyali.blogspot.com and www.whatsgoodingreensboro.blogspot.com , an Etsy shop called AllSortsofArt a Facebook page for All Sorts of Art by Ali and a Facebook page for What's Good in Greensboro?, my local blog about where I live. I might develop another blog, or a few more, to post articles that aren't included in the narrower focus of those two. I'm also thinking about trying MyLot or MyKites.

For various reasons, I haven't written much lately, but I'm hoping that can change in the near future. I'm considering several sites, but I haven't committed to anything yet. Right now, my immediate plans are to concentrate on my blogs Old Roads Once Traveled and My Road to Earning Online, archiving Guiness the Cat posts onto the Guiness Blog by Guiness the Cat, and introducing Huckleberry the Kitten to the world. He claims he has learned enough in kitten school to begin his own blog, and he's looking forward to earning some cat food money. It seems he hasn't found any paying customers for his after-school house remodeling and redecorating business. He adores the pen, and I knew from the first day I got him that he would be a blogging kitty.

Huck will be getting his own Facebook page very soon. In the meantime, you can keep up with me through my Facebook pages "Old Roads Once Traveled" and "The Guiness Blog by Guiness the Cat". I'm also on Twitter, Google+, and Tsu, but I haven't been active in awhile. That needs to change, too.

BarbRad wrote on February 2, 2016, 2:39 AM

I think we are connected on BlogJob.

BarbRad wrote on February 2, 2016, 2:40 AM

So we won't be able to find you then?

BarbRad wrote on February 2, 2016, 2:42 AM

Looks like you'll be hard to keep up with in so many places. I have an idea. I'll email you.

wolfgirl569 wrote on February 2, 2016, 8:55 AM

I think so. Have you seen George started a blog there?

jiangliu1949 wrote on February 3, 2016, 1:07 AM

Over there my username is changjiangzhibin89

BeckyWiegers wrote on February 4, 2016, 9:47 AM

I've connected with a couple people there. I've no certain idea yet where (or if) I'll land, but if I can find y'all on FB, I can keep track of where you're writing and pay the occasional visit.

You were one of the kindest of posters, , for which I thank you. My best to you! I am now limited to two site: QuirkyScience.com (my own site) and DecodedScience.org.
