Writing Prompt: 12 and The Future

Heyyyy, everyone. I found a writing prompt that I want to try out, and it asks "If you were 12 and looked at yourself in the future, would you be happy?"

The answer would be yes. Yes, I would definitely be happy. I didn't have many friends when I was 12 years old, and I got picked on throughout my middle school years. If I looked to the future, I would see how a bunch of great friends, amazing experiences and a job working from home as a freelance writer. I would also know that getting picked on is not something I would have to worry about today. :)

I think my only downfall would be knowing my Daddy is no longer with us, but other than that, I would be pretty happy wiith how different things are almost 20 years later.

I'm going to get to work, and then I'm watching a movie. You all take care and I'll catch you later.

I am glad that you are happy. 20 years ago I had no idea I would be where I am today and I managed to maintain a strict ethic against drug use in spite of lots of my friends who still do drugs. I am happy.

At 12, my life started to fall apart. That was the year my Dad was ill and lost his job. I remember retreating into a world of dreams. I am so glad things were often better in my future than I expected.

Good writing prompt.

Thanks! :) I know what you mean - I don't smoke or do drugs, and I rarely drink. I would go to parties and not let anyone around me influence me to drink (I preferred to drink at home; and even then, it was rare and not a lot - it's really not my thing). I'm glad you didn't let others influence you as well.

I am so sorry to hear of that, and I hope things are better for you now.
