You Can Have My Crazy. I Don't Want It.

Sometimes, you just know a day isn't going to go well.
I woke up at 5.30am as usual, then decided that I would stay in bed a bit longer after Mr C left for work. My hours are not as set as his, so I get to work the hours I want when I need to. When I finally lined my work ducks up and told them to behave, it was 7.30am. By 8.20am I was up the road (in the tipping rain) and waiting for the 8.36am bus. That didn't arrive until 8.55am. In the meantime I had seen a lone magpie and wondered what ills would befall me this day.
Oh well.
Then the bus connection to work was playing silly games when I was in town. First the board showed 8 minutes (and they're every 10.) Then something in the order of 17 minutes. At which point I rapidly began to lose interest in the day. It was cold. I was wet. I was hungry. I was thirsty.
I eventually shivered and dribbled my way into work at around 10am.
To a positive avalanche of emails from my boss, who required a laundry list of documents to be sent over as soon as possible. She rang me to request another few documents and I could tell she was spitting teeth, fur, feathers and various other metaphors all over the office. I emailed her the documents as soon as I could. My departmental head came in with another list of requests. Those too were emailed as soon as possible .
The usual weekly meeting for the scheduled annual audit submission took place this afternoon as normal. Bossgal tottered in looking shattered at the end of the 2 hour meeting and proceeded to update us on the circumstances behind her requests.
I thus found myself with a few more items to locate and send over as soon as I could. So I did. She was in no mood to suffer fools and I was disinclined to put myself there. At least the weather had moderated slightly when I emerged. It was cold and dry, which made the journey home a little easier. It's still cold, and I would like to be warm again soon, please.
I tried searching for 'crazy' on the Pixabay images but I liked this one from the 'random' results better.

Oh dear. Not a good sort of day. Probably just as well you stayed in bed for a while, the early buses might have been even crazier!

That's what I thought! Wild weather and wild requests. Holding it together because I've been through worse as I told bossgal earlier.

Some days if it rains it pours (figure of speech meaning if one thing happens many things end up happening all at once).

What a day you had. MegL was probably right about the buses. Hopefully tomorrow will be better for you. Cross your fingers and toes.

Figure of speech aptly matched by the weather, as it happens.

If having a few glasses of wine and calling an early night can be classed as good...

Variations on the same color, which I expected. Plus bossgal and Departmental Head had to attend a former colleague's funeral so they really weren't feeling up to much except wallowing in it today. I spent most of the afternoon working on the answers to three audit questions which I emailed the boss before I left in the early evening. Things are looking up now though - home made pizza and half a lake of wine make a long week better.

Phew, what a day! A cold, rainy morning tends to suck the energy out of me. This morning was quite foggy, but at least not drippy.
