Draymond Green is the Golden State Warriors MVP.
As of this writing, the Golden State Warriors lead their game against the Los Angeles Lakers by 33 points going to the last two minutes of the third quarter, 88-55. As most everyone knows, the Warriors are the reigning defending champions of the National Basketball Association, winning last year’s trophy 4-2 against the Miami Heat.
They are currently sitting on a 33-2 win-loss record in the regular season and have been absolutely dominant in their quest back to the playoffs, thus far. They are led by the “Splash Brothers” (Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry), but the player that really anchors their play is number 23.
No, I am not talking about Michael Jordan. Golden State’s player wearing that number is Draymond Green. This year, he has really stepped up his game and he keeps on improving. He still has not missed a game this year (correct me if I’m wrong) and it remains to be seen how the players and coaching staff would respond if he becomes unavailable for them to play.
Their first loss was when Thompson was out with an ankle injury and the second was when last year’s regular season MVP Stephen Curry missed a game with a sore leg.
Green, has been very productive. Yesterday, in a win against the Charlotte Hornets, he recorded his first ever triple Triple-Double. That is three consecutive triple-doubles. He is such a vital cog to the Warriors, both in offense and defense, and people may overlook him due to the stellar scoring put up by both Splash Brothers.
Draymond is, to me, the Golden State Warriors Most Valuable Player.
