Brushed with the floor lamp

Childminding Day Today

It was back to childminding yesterday after the Christmas break (break? What was that? No, I did NOT get 2 weeks free from childminding!). I landed up there at 9 am and got back home at 5pm or so. Well, they are only 5 minutes walk away.

Morning

The elder of the two girls goes to nursery school in the morning and I tend to do a bit of housework and get the toddler to "help" me, while she is away. Today, it was tidying up the bedroom they share. So I put bricks in one box and then turned to another, while she emptied the first one out again. I managed to get all the bricks and teddies out of two boxes and just put teddies back in to them. (Hold that thought til later) Then I sorted the lego duplo bricks and the wooden blocks and jigsaw puzzle pieces and we took them downstairs. My daughter was working in her study at the top of the house (It has 3 levels) and she took the two boxes of teddies and put them away upstairs out of the way, because the girls have far too many toys and needed a break from some of them.

Afternoon

After lunch, the elder one watched one of her programs and then said she needed to use the bathroom by herself. I was changing the baby's nappy so let her go. She was quite a while so went looking for her. She knew her mother was in the house and had gone looking for her and found the teddies (told you to hold that thought) and brought a good number of them downstairs.

So What About The Floor Lamp?

Later in the afternoon, I usually play with them and their toys or read stories if it is too wet to go out (which it was). Today, I sat on the floor to read books and the little one got the wooden floor lamp out of the dolls' house and brushed my hair with it - HARD!

I bet you just loved it though. I always liked to care for the age your grandchildren are now.

It looks like your granddaughters really keep you busy. It's the same with my granddaughter when she comes over.

Back to reality, makes me glad I live far away from the family with kids!

Being tidy is all very well, but tidy isn't FUN is it?!

That sounds like an exhausting day to me. It's hard enough to clean up after my husband and myself. So much easier to mess things up than clean things up.
