TIME FOR SOMETHING NEW?
I'm just curious, gang. What is your absolute favourite type of writing? Self-help or other articles? A personal blog? Writing for children? Writing about different places you've traveled to and/or the cultures you've experienced? Poetry or fiction? Maybe you've written some of these types, but haven't yet considered others?
For the most part, I've written at least four of these at one time or another. I do write poetry from time to time, but very rarely. Mostly, I find myself sticking to the fictional tale. While I have written for children, I often find that I do better at writing fiction for the adult crowd.
I don't write science fiction, since I don't care for reading it myself. I've sort of dabbled in writing the romantic, but I won't say much about that.
Of late, I find that my stories tend to be based on television shows or movies I've seen. Not always, mind you. Just sometimes. When I say based on, I don't mean an exact base. Just that lately, they tend to give me ideas for works of my own.
Maybe it's time I tried posting some of my fictional work here? A lot of my friends from my other group always say how much they enjoy my stories. Some time ago, our friend Paulie asked me what the story for my Aussie Grandmum's story is about. I haven't posted it to my other group. Since I want her to be the first one to read it, I'll let her decide whether or not she wants me to share it with the others or not. She feels that our adoptive relationship is a personal one for her, and I feel the same way, so maybe not.
But what I will say is this. It's a love story, of sorts.
Anyway, some of my other works may make it here after all.
Something to chew on.
