The more that you read the more that you learn

The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you will go. By Dr. Seuss

Reading has no excuse whether you are young or old because reading is a source of knowledge that everyone needs. In this day and age the aptitude to read is very vital. In simple ways, when we are cooking dishes, we cannot accomplish what we want to do if we can’t read what is stated in the cook book. But how about a child that has no capability to read? Is there a good future waiting for them? Let’s face the reality, that not every child has given a chance to send them to school by their parents to be illiterate.

The Non Government Organization or NGO like Children International advocates helping children to achieve their dreams. They’re organizing programs, seminars and activities that really educate all sponsored child. One of their instruments in educating children is to have a community library that contains books. Because they believe that reading is very powerful and one of the key to stimulate their mind set.

Knowledge from reading can change you, your family, your community or even the whole world but first let us know what is the reason why were reading. Second, asking why you might need this information primes your brain to make connections between what you’re reading and what you want to achieve.

Techniques are very important. There are three styles of reading which we use in different situations. The Scanning is for a specific focus. Skimming for getting the general idea of something and the last is the Detail reading for extracting information accurately.

The Habit of reading books is dying because some of the children, teenagers and even adult instead of reading, they are watching cinema or television and listening to the radio, but their imagination was not functioning. Many children do not know how to read. We are fortunate, so give importance to it. As youth we help our fellow youth in the things they should know because reading does not end and learning is unlimited.
