This Christmas Year A New Family Tradition

This year we had our family Christmas get together as we do every year. This year my youngest son wanted all of us to start a new tradition and adopt a family who is in need and struggling because the father died and the wife is trying to make ends meet for her children. This will be every year from now own. So this year is year one. We are all to happy to do this because we as a family have plenty. We can all remember when we didn't have it so easy once upon a time in our lives and just like to lend a helping hand where it is needed. Our lives can change in the blink of an eye to be thankful and sharing is a good thing. I am so proud of our son for wanting to start a new Christmas family tradition.

Your son's idea for a new family tradition helping needy families is certainly in the true spirit of Christmas!

You are so right in that life can "change in the blink of an eye."
We must all learn to wake up each day, and say "thank you."

"And a little child shall lead them..." You are justly proud of your son for suggesting this. What a wonderful job you've done raising him to have such a giving heart.

Thank you I have always tried to teach my children its not how much excess we have its about what others need.

Brenda wrote on December 23, 2015, 10:25 AM

Absolutely agree. Its a joy to beyond all joy!

Giving is like no other joy.

Thank you absolutely. I use to have a sign hanging that said praying first keeps the day from unraveling. I truly believe that. Blessings.

I have always believed the excess belongs to those in need. Doesn't it just make sense.

Brenda wrote on December 23, 2015, 10:44 AM

My mom raised me to believe God makes us all stewards of what he has given us and the excess doesn't belong to us but to those in need.

Yes, yes it does make sense.
