Musings for Tuesday, December 22, 2015
Hi, Dear Reader and fellow Persona Paper authors. It is 5:56 p.m. EST here in Miami, Florida, where the skies are dark, cloudy, and unseasonably rainy. Currently, the temperature is 80 degrees Fahrenheit under light rain. With the wind blowing from the southeast at 16 mph and humidity at 76%, the feels-like temperature is 85 degrees Fahrenheit. This is not exactly my favorite mid-December/early winter weather. Far from it. But I refuse to let it bring my mood down. Christmas is almost here, after all, and it’s better, I think, to accentuate the positive and eliminate the negative. (In any case, the weather is something I have no control over. Griping about it won’t shoo the rain away or cause the winter sun to shine, right?)
Right now, I’m still in a state of bliss. I enjoyed the company of the woman I love from Friday the 18th until a bit past four this afternoon. She decorated the house for Christmas, complete with tree, ornaments, lights, a holiday wreath, and other nice touches. We also went to watch Star Wars: The Force Awakens twice – Friday night and this afternoon – and exchanged Christmas gifts last night. As you can imagine, I’m in a happier frame of mind now than I imagined several weeks ago.
Well, it’s dark outside now – it’s 6:14 p.m. and the sun has set on this, the shortest day of the year. I must now go off and see what I can make for dinner.
