Before

and after:
We finally got new windows, they installed all but one yesterday, then the weather got too nasty. So they are finishing up this morning while it is nice. Well, while it is not freezing rain and high winds. Just cold and breezy.
Hubby noticed the improvement quickly, he kept having to turn the heat down. It was lovely to sit in my chair last night and not have a cold draft blowing down the back of my neck. We will have to do trim work and painting on the inside, but that can wait. I have some ideas percolating thru my mind on what I may want to do.
Nice and quiet this week, students have taken off for break. I will be taking all of next week off starting this Thursday. Will be nice to have a whole week with no obligations anywhere and putter about the house. Still have to get the book shelves in the office installed.
House is slowly coming together and starting to finally feel like home.

So nice that you can celebrate the end of the year with the warmth of your new home.

Nice, very good to see such improvements on a home. It does make the home more livable. The property value goes up and a new sense of pride is felt.

We need to do that too. Glad it has made a very big difference

Something I need to get around to, as well. Think I'll start worrying about it in the New Year.

new windows do make a big difference, it should save you on your heating bill

That makes SUCH a difference when there is no cold draught. It saves on heating costs too, which is always a good thing.

It is, been enjoying lovely draft-free evenings

Yup, and Phoebe is so happy HER window is now replaced so she can look outside again.

Property value and resale was one of the arguments I had with hubby about getting ALL of the windows done. He wanted to just do 9 and board up the extra one in his office.

A very big difference. One nice incentive is to see if your local power company has rebates on replacing windows. Sometimes the state may have something like that also.

Good time to start looking around. I don't recommend having them installed in the dead of winter, but I am so glad we didn't wait.

That it will. We've noticed the furnace doesn't kick on as much as it used to. May also be able to kick the temp down a point or two and still stay comfy (we keep it at 68F while we are up and around).

Can't wait to see our electric bill go down. With any luck this show drop us down into double digits, instead of seriously high triple digits we used to have at the old place.

Good news on new windows. Happy to hear your home is coming along and feeling warm and toasty. I bet your heating bill will drop too!
