To Fail To Prepare ....

That saying P² = P³
I learnt that saying when I became a management trainer. It stands for Poor Preparation = Pretty Poor Presentation, and it's true. If you learn nothing else about presentation, learn that.
It Applies to Life Too
My son has a job interview tomorrow. It's pretty important to him and he has been preparing his presentation, reading up on the subject and downloading papers to ensure he is fully briefed.
What Did He Forget?
Go on, guess! He only got his suit and shirt out tonight, ready for the interview tomorrow. I could have reminded him during the week but I chose not to. I knew I would be asked to iron his shirt.
Where's the P³?
One of his 2 white shirts has an orange mark on a cuff, which will not come out. He hung his suit trousers up in a very slovenly way and when I went to iron them, I found a mark on the trousers AND on the jacket. He has another suit and brought it out but the hem on one trouser leg is hanging down.
I Have Warned Him Several Times
I am fed up reminding him. He is old enough to think ahead for himself. Of course, being a scientist, going for a scientific job, the panel members may not notice!

Maybe the interviewer will not notice the stain on the cuff. If you son looks neat and knows his stuff maybe that will be all the will be needed.

I hope the job interview goes perfectly well for you son tomorrow. I know things like that can be scary and nerve wracking.

Oh talk about planning. I am planning for this party since August. I love the planning part more than the events that I have put up in my life. My dream house came into being after several years of planning.

The same rules apply in teaching. The kids know when a teacher is working without a plan and will eat him or her alive.

It seems that most men are the same. I remember also paying least attention to my clothes when having a job interview.

There are many instances where I have failed to prepare. But I was not prepared to fail
