Abbey's Christmas Tree

Last week Hubby came dragging in this lit up Christmas tree and got it all set it up to be decorated. I thought watching him set it up, well I can do this all I have to do is pace myself add decorations to the tree some each day, and by the end of the week it should be done.

Didn't work out that way. The first day the tree was set up Abbey loved it. She loved it so much she would climb its branches. That poor little angel on top would rock back and forth making me think the whole tree is going to tumble on the floor.

Hubby got the idea to squirt little miss Abbey Rose with a water bottle every time she would go near the tree. She is almost broke from climbing the tree, but not yet. Hubby squirts at her a long stream of water and she runs for cover away from the tree. She is so funny to watch. The minute hubby picks that bottle up away she runs.

Needless to say the tree is going to have to wait to be decorated Abbey still claims it as her very own new toy as anyone can see in this photo she now sleeps under the tree and is not moving till Santa arrives.

One of my online friends mentioned how she and her husband were not able to put up a Christmas tree this year because they had three cats who would be climbing it and knocking it down.

Cats do love to climb trees. They used to always climb the trees my folks set up years ago.

Our cats have never been bad about climbing our trees but when we had Labrador retrievers we couldn't hang any ornaments on the low branches because their tales would send the ornaments flying.

Too cute Abbey is under her Christmas tree! She may fool you and end up liking the water game so much that she continues the play throughout the season!

That is to funny the ornaments went flying. I am apprehensive to hang anything low on tree too . Gran girls are suppose to be here next week so they can help decorate the tree and keep Abbey away. They are going to love her!!!

Oh we enjoy her so much. We are a retired couple and the kids can only come some during the year so she is a lot of company for us. We do live in a lively community though and never get lonely there is always activities out here.

Thank you she is a lot of fun!

Brenda wrote on December 19, 2015, 10:14 PM

Well she sure does. I'm thinking about getting her a tree that she is allowed to climb.

That would be a very good idea. We have a good sized tree in our front yard that the neighbor's cats are always climbing.

Cats love Christmas trees. That's a good idea to put her from it.
