Empty Nest Supper Plans

The inevitable question is coming. She's going to call sometime in the next hour or so and ask it. I know she is.

And what will I say when she does? Will I say, "I don't know?" Will I say, "What are you in the mood for?"

I will say, "It's a surprise, but I think you'll like it."

Then she'll tell me to just go ahead and tell her, but I won't.

"If I tell you, you'll just suggest we have something else," I'll tell her. "That's what you always do."

She counter that she doesn't always to that. "You usually do," I'll insist. She'll have no response, and she'll quit asking.

What we are having is lasagna with garlic toast. No, I'm not making the lasagna. I'm heating up a frozen lasagna I bought at the market on the way home.

It's getting dark out so I should go bring the dogs in. I'll be baack.

We haven't had dinner yet but I think I'm going to make tacos. Lasagna sounds good though.

That sounds pretty much like what happens in this house. My husband does a lot of the cooking but I like to do some too, even if only to give him a rest but if he comes into the kitchen before it's too far to change directions, he quite often says, "Why not this, or why not that"!

I have a recipe for lasagna that I have made many times but on occasion when I don't feel like cooking, I will buy frozen lasagna and the brands I have bought are pretty good.

I'm not overly fond of lasagna, but I do like quality manicotti. Overall I'm not a pasta kind of guy.

Lasagna with garlic toast sounds great. I haven't had that in a very long time.

That is the inevitable question "What's for dinner?"

I sure know I have missed something - what else can I expect if I have been away for a couple or so months. Anyway I see that you are on your own and are planning on making dinner. Good luck with your effort.

Hi! Great to see you. I was making dinner for K and I, the lazy man's way. I bought a frozen lasagna at the grocers and heated it up in the microwave. It was surprisingly good.
