Helping yourself AND fellow PP writers

Gaining Points

For every post of yours that is viewed by people in certain countries (some are excluded) you get 2 points. If you comment on someone else's post, they get 2 points (for your view) and you get 1 point for your comment, provided it is over 30 characters long.

How Does This Help?

A mix of posting articles and making comments seems to be the best strategy for maximising your coin count (per corallevang who has tested it out) and I think Alicanary has commented on this too. So posting your own articles and then commenting on others posted at the same time can improve the views on your articles. You also get the coins from commenting. Possibly others may also wish to reciprocate by visiting your posts too.

Goals and Targets

Sometimes it can be hard trying to find enough posts on which to comment, so here are some ways of making your commenting progress more interesting:

1. Complete the front page . On the front page, there are 50 articles. Up to a maximum of 3 of yours can be there at any one time. Going down the front page helps you find new writers you haven't met before and a variety of posts to read. It can be a challenge to post a relevant comment on every article you read. I have done it a few times and find the best way is to start at the end and work forward to the most recent.

2. Follow a writer of your choice and check their posts through your "Recent Activity" . I follow quite a number of writers on here, so my recent activity list can get pretty long. The fun in this one is seeing how many different subjects your chosen writers will post on.

3. Help someone else meet THEIR target. A few writers on here have set themselves targets to reach by a certain time. Some of these people have only sporadic access to the internet and also live in places where the cash out amount would make a substantial difference to their income for that month. Others set a target of earning a certain number of cents or a certain number of points or of writing a certain number of articles in a day. Others set targets of achieving cash out by a certain date. It's fun to help these people achieve their targets and one of the ways I do this is to find one of their recent posts and comment, then start working backwards through the links that appear on the left hand side about midway down the page, showing earlier posts. I can go back through 10 and 15 posts at a time this way. And it is much easier than trying to use the profile list of articles. If you click on their name, you can see how many points they have and if you multiply that number by 0.0015, that shows how many cents they have earned. Sometimes, if a writer has set a target of a number of points or number of cents, I will go back through their posts until they have achieved that, stopping when the calculations show they have got to the target. It's not always possible to do the full set of views necessary but every little helps.

Goal setters

Some of the people listing targets are corallevang , lexiconlover , luisga814 and dwdavisrsl Any goal setters I haven't mentioned who want their link here, let me know and i will add it.

Your Reward

Every time you comment on someone else's post (over 30 characters) you get a point. You also get a possible follower and maybe a view of YOUR posts!

I haven't the energy to pull all this off. I'm happy making $10 plus clicks on each article elsewhere.

I appreciate all that you have done for me to build the relationships and keep going here. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, and thank you for the shout out.

Some care about relationship-building; others care about the money-building. It all takes a different type of energy. None is wrong.

Wisely put, . I need to make some income writing. While I'm not looking to build relationships in particular, I do enjoy some of the writers here and at other locales. For that reason, I invite them to join me where I make greater income. Have you checked out DecodedEverything?

I appreciate the shout out. I've tried all of your ideas for making more connections and improving earnings and they've all benefited me over the nearly a year I've been on the site.

Some good advice, but goal setting is beyond me when it comes to writing. Reading is much easier!

CoralLevang wrote on December 8, 2015, 5:35 PM

I have checked it out, but have not done anything with it. I am really not writing at this point for money, but simply for the sheer love of writing. I also like the social aspect here.

I try to read all of the posts from people following m every day. I have been forgetting the home page lately. Need to get back to that

People helping people is a winning situation for all. While I need additional income, writing is one of my passions, and building relationships along the way makes it even more worthwhile.

I am trying very hard to do all that you mention above, but it is really slow for me, more slow than it is for others it seems.

This is an excellent post for helping yourself and fellow pp writers. My goal is still to earn a dime a day and to cash out on January 10.

For someone like me who could only write and interact occasionally, it would take a long time to reach some goals here. Our regular jobs are demanding too much time. Great tips!

I have been away for queit sometimes now and i guess it will take me sometime before i can get the hang on the site again but i hope to do so soon. Looking forward to making use of your points

I have only been here a few months and I try anything to earn but I actually like the writing the most. I also like reading other posts.

I think this post should be made part of FAQ or How It Works. Very well written with great points and tips on how to succeed on this site.

I never knew how the site worked. Thank you for the information.

Very well explained helping both the newbies and oldies as well.

Thank you that is very helpful. I have a goal of reaching at least 2000 coins by the end of this month. New clue if I will be able to even do it but it is worth a shot.
