Do you choose your eggs before purchase?
I have the habit the make sure each of the eggs are still in good condition before purchase.
I had noticed that trays or boxes of eggs are not 100% intact at all.
Out of 30 eggs ina tray, at least 5 of them are broken, yolks flowing to the bottom of the tray.
Maybe I am the only one who is being too careful but each eggs cost 40 cents to 50 cents for grade A.
This is not cheap. Think about it, losing $2.50 for 5 broken eggs, is it worth it ?
I don't care about saving my pride. I don't want to be the dumb shopper who buy eggs without checking.
As long as I don't break other eggs, I am just choosing the eggs which is my right as a customer.
Anyway, checking 30 eggs in a tray, you gotta make sure you are not blocking other shoppers way.

I always check when I do buy eggs. But I haven't bought eggs in almost two months.

I always check and make sure I don't buy any cracked egg. I also handle the whole carton with care when transporting them home.

If I do have to buy eggs I always take the time to check them. Thankfully my hens lay even most of the winter

My wife purchases all of the eggs now. When I was living in the States, I would open the cartons and examine each egg for breakage just like you.

Me too, don't care what others look at me.

Yes, that is a good practice. I guess moms do check their eggs like mother hens

3 to 5 per day but has slowed down a little with the colder weather. Enough for us and I give the extras to Mom

I really don't know because I am not around when she selects the eggs.

I do choose it carefully. It is better to be safe than sorry.
