Missing friend

A few years back one of my friends went abroad but she never came back and one of my acquaintances said to me that she was missing, that she will probably never come back at all. Nobody could confirm where she is, never even contacted her mother.

Then out of a blue, two years ago, somebody posing like my friend, contacted me in my private Facebook. That person had all our friends listed but none of them was in any way connected to me.

A person asked me persistently to come and visit her abroad, but she didn’t sound like her and she had no profile images, nothing on that profile that would even barely suggest it was her.

When I made it clear that I have no intention of meeting with her ( whoever she is) that ghost never contacted me again.

that sounded odd. Perhaps it was her, but perhaps not.

Sounds like a very wise decision.

Glad you did not go sounds strange

It does seem very strange. I think it was a good idea that you didn't go. Something doesn't seem quite right.

that ghost could have been her, but who knows for sure.

I knew it was not her after the first message. Just, something was too wrong. She never behave like this before plus our normal behavioral pattern does not include instantly inviting somebody to visit you abroad. You talk a bit, exchange impressions... At least she could put one profile picture of her. I am not fan of the profile pictures but I have a few of my own in my family Facebook accounts.

I was so happy to hear from her after 10 years of silence and then I realized it was not her, it was somebody else. A huge disappointment.

More than strange, 'she' didn't even sound normal. Her language was all weird and wrong.

Now, it was 2 years ago but it still bugs me. My friend never returned and nobody ever said anything of her. Who is that person? How that person can know about me or anyone else?

I am pretty sure it was not her, but I had nobody to involve in this. Who do I report? I don't have her picture at hands to try Google search her face, but no woman matches her profile I already investigate it. I was looking for this person for years and then suddenly 'she' contacted me. my friend is taken for dead.
