Pre holiday jollies. And all that.

Not much has been going on lately, just me bitching about the cold and how it is making me feel. Mostly rotten, as my joints have been swollen and aching lately.

Today was fairly busy. J and I went to the market to get the shopping done, at the unspeakable hour of sevenish or so. Happily, there were not many people there and we managed to get in and out of there quickly -- neither one of us like shopping. Online, I don't mind, I can happily sit in the comfy chair and just do it. But dealing with wandering around the grocery store trying to find everything, ugh... Not for me.

For a while we have had three little catlings/kittens lurking around the place. Two grey and one all black. Earlier in the month J was able to catch one of the greys, a little girl, and off she went to the local ASPCA. The day before yesterday he was able to grab the other two. The grey one is slowly getting used to him and somewhat accepting of personal contact and cautious pets, but the black one managed to squirm free and bolted for the basement. Still down in the basement, and I hope that he/she will realize that there is food upstairs and remerges from the depths.

Still struggling getting through Mary Beard's SPQR. Rather dense and scholarly, but I am having difficulty with it. I am determined to get it finished this weekend.

Made a batch of spaghetti sauce tonight, to be put in the freezer and saved for later. And then tomorrow will be a marathon cooking season. As it will be just me and J, a chicken will suffice as neither one of us likes turkey. but there will be the usual trimmings -- smashed potatoes, rolls, a veggie or two and stuffing. Apple pie for dessert of course. All of it fairly easy to pull together and get on the table at about the same time.

Now to go write some reviews. I really do need to get motivated here...

Have a happy Thanksgiving. I am going to venture out and find dinner at a local restaurant.

I wish J and I could do that, but sadly, there are not any good restaurants nearby unless we want to pay outrageous prices at the CIA.

I'll probably go to Denny's. ROFLMAO

You too? Well... Someplace anyway. Either that or the usual fare.
