Early Giving Thanks Dinner

Yesterday I awoke with what seemed like the start of a winter cold, not a bit surprising with our first snow flurries in the air. I decided against going to church, opting instead to spend the day nursing my symptoms while hoping they would go away. This decision meant I would also miss out on the early Thanksgiving dinner at church too.
As luck and love would have it, I would be given good reason to give thanks anyway. I received a call from my friend (and boss) who had attended the dinner at Hope United Methodist Church . "I gathered you up some food and want to bring it to you," she said. Now, how awesome that was!
Jenny arrived with several plates of food for me -- turkey and all the trimmings. As you can see, plenty for dessert too, including the church's famed buckeye candy!
Yes, I shared a bit of turkey with my dog Valentino, and gave him the hug I could not give my friend Jenny, as she did not want to share my germs! And, I shed a few tears of gratitude as my friend drove away.
This is but a simple reminder for me that no matter life's weather, there's always a bit o' sunshine to be found. For that truth I give thanks.

That was very sweet of her to think of doing that. Glad that you still got to enjoy the dinner

Yes, it was sweet, and she included enough turkey for the dog as she knew I would give some to him too.

Indeed He does not, BarbRad and as you well know, I've had to lean on friends a lot in the past few months. Thank Goodness their support and encouragement is ever-present.
