A Quick Definition of Pinterest for Newbies

For the newbies that have not become members of Pinterest but who are thinking of joining, you should know what the site is all about. Basically Pinterest is the equivalent of an online scrapbook for your internet searches. While it doesn’t take the place of your bookmarks or favorite pages, it can help you to keep your internet searches organized. When you see a recipe you look, instead of bookmarking the entire page, you can just “pin” the recipe to your board. You can have as many boards as you want and pin just about anything you find as long as it fits the parameters of the site. Are you new to Pinterest? What questions do you have?

I have been on Pinterest for a couple of years, but I am not using it to my advantage in marketing my writing on Hubpages. Do you have any suggestions?

Paulie - The way to use Pinterest is as a ''gathering point'' for your work. I have had a Pinterest account for some time but have only recently started using it to promote my work. Every time I write something new (not on Persona Paper) I pin the lead image to a Pinterest board and this is what you should be doing with your Hubs. You should also engage with other pinners who have similar interests by following them and pinning some of their pins to one of your boards. Like all social networks (which is what Pinterest is) many will reciprocate leading to increased traffic to your work. You should also install a Pinterest Button on your Hubs which encourages readers to pin your work to their boards - again leading to increased traffic. For me Pinterest looks like being a very useful way of advertising my work and I see no reason why it shouldn't be the same for you.

When was new, I requested approval to open an account. My wishes were granted. Have been there ever since and I am quite satisfied with it. It serves my home business purposes.
