Good bye Bubblews

I have been taking my posts off the site for the past week or so. I got online tonight and discovered that the site went offline and is now gone.
Their message to their former users?

"Greetings, After being up and running for almost 3 years now we regrettably need to inform you that we will be shutting Bubblews.com down.
The climate for display advertising has drastically changed and made it impossible for us to sustain the business model and operations.
We want to thank everyone that was a part of this journey. We wish you all the very best. –Bubblews"

My problem with this is that they could have given us a week to remove our posts that we wanted to keep.
I had a few on there that I didn't get to as of yet. I went a grabbed most of them, but I wasn't done yet!
I hope everyone was able to grab their posts while they could.. this is a lesson learned for me.
Now I'm handwriting my posts and transferring them to the computer.

I know that other posters from the 'b' site share your sentiments. The 'b' site just proves how insensitive they are. Best that they are already gone in the face of the internet. Sucks though that we couldn't get our posts from the site.

The "powers that be" over there had stopped taking to the writer's a few months ago. I'm sure they were concentrating on the "Sweeble" app.

Whatever happened to that Sweeble app? Not that I care.

Anyway, what I'll miss most with the 'b' site beign gone are the friends I;ve made there. Would have been nice to find a way to talk to them again.

Luckily I have copies of all my posts on my computer. So I have every single one of them. The sad thing is, you're right, we should have had time to delete out content from them.

Finally, Bubblews is dead. I left the website last year and had taken down all of my posts over there. I sympathize with all the writers that are hanging on there. There had been signs that the website just isn't sustainable.

I wrote all my posts on my computer and pasted them in. I'm sorry so many people were cheated, but the red flags were all there as early as July 2014 that they didn't care about their writers. It kind of burned me that they seemed to consider everyone a cheater and their rules made the honest people suffer the most. What I hated was not being able to paste in a comment. On most sites, I copy comments before submitting in case the site eats them. Then if I lose them, I paste them back in. Bubblews wouldn't allow that because they assumed anyone who wanted to paste was a spammer. In the end, Bubblews owners turned out to be the biggest cheaters of all.

It would have been nice to have gotten more notice than we did. It just happened so quickly. It's not too surprising though. It has been going downhill, ever since they made those changes earlier this year.

I'm not sure about Sweeble. I never joined it.

They took a cowards way out which doesn't surprise me at all.

LisaSteinmetz wrote on November 18, 2015, 2:23 PM

I don't know why you would sympathise with them as they chose to stay there with their friends. Not everyone stayed for the $$ they stayed for the friendship.

I agree with you there. They should have dealt with the cheaters in the very beginning and not let them take over the site. I had a feeling the site was closing when the "powers that be" stopped communicating with us period. From what I understand, Arvind and Jason left the peroject months ago.

Very true. I was on the page the day before and all looked fine. lol Well as fine as it could be on there I guess.

Colibry21 wrote on November 18, 2015, 4:22 PM

Lol. That's true. It looked normal. Well ... Normal for Bubblews.

LeaPea2417 wrote on November 24, 2015, 5:44 PM

I really think Arvind and Jason were very rude to just yank it off the net so quickly like they did. They should have set a date so more people could have a chance to retrieve their posts.

I think that it was very insensitive and inconsiderate what they did. They could have at least given their writers a warning before abandoning them like that. Also, they should have let all the writers redeem whatever earnings they had in their bank since they knew they were going to be shutting the site down. The way they handled things proves that they were not good business people.

I get tired of the use of the word journey. We have a whisky distillery nearby that encourages the public to engage in their journey to fine whisky. Poop. When people drink, they sit. They don't go anywhere. Journey nothing!
