Big fat fluffy rain, and why yes, I do live on the bank of a river in Egypt!

So the pic is outside the break room here at work. I refuse to say the "S" word and will remain on the banks of De Nile for a while longer. Good thing is it isn't going to stick around long, pretty much rain in the forecast for a while.

Feeling so relaxed and calm now. Looking forward to a weekend where I am not obligated to be anywhere. Just planning on puttering and maybe a trip to Lewiston at some point to hit Costco. It has been a while and there are a few things I am completely out of I can only get there.

Do need to start weatherizing the windows, hubby's office gets very cold. Have LOTS of bubble wrap so will get started on that sometime this weekend.

Starting my Thanksgiving planning. I have a list going for shopping and am still working on the menu. Not going for anything too creative and different. Most likely will fall back on last years menu which was good. I am taking the whole week off so will have plenty of time to get things prepped and ready to go. I like to get a lot of the side dishes done a few days in advanced (potato dishes and dessert) and the day before get things prepped and ready for the oven or slow cooker.

So much to do and now I have lots of time to do it in LOL!

This year , as in many past years, I don't cook at Thanksgiving. My family and I meet other family members at a restaurant to eat a Thanksgiving meal.

This year will be the first time in my entire life that my wife and I will be eating turkey dinner on Thanksgiving Day at a local cafeteria. Perhaps Norma's on Davis Street in Oak Cliff, Dallas, TX. They have some of the best tasting home cooking around.

I was just in Dallas a week ago on business for the week. Near Love Field.

I know a few people who do that. I love to cooks, so Thanksgiving is one of my favorite times Plus hubby and I live off the leftovers for quite a while.

So not into it either. Stayed cold last night and had a bit more, but should be going away this weekend.

There will probably be a day when we will do that, or at the very least just go to friends and just do potluck with someone else cooking the turkey.

I'm going to my nephew's house for Thanksgiving this year. I'm looking forward to being there, but not to getting back and forth.
