Pixabay Name Challenge

This challenge was quite famous on and i thought it would be fun to introduce it to this site as well.

For the challenge you have to type your name into the search and see what you come up with. Then you have to write a post about it.

Go to: New article

Click: Add image

Type your name or part of it.

Since my name was too foreign for Pixabay, I used just first three letters g-u-l and came up with lots of sea-gulls.

When I think of sea-gulls, the first thing that comes to my mind is the short story "His First Flight" by Liam O'Flaherty who was an Irish novelist and short story writer.

The story is about a young sea-gull who is afraid to fly. His siblings taunt and mock him, his parents leave him alone on the ledge and then his mother tempts him with a morsel of food when he is very hungry. The sea-gull jumps down the ledge in desperation thus making his first flight with all fears gone.

The story is about overcoming fears, the role of family and their support and finding enough courage to take the first step, finding wings and soaring high.

I had studied this short story in my first year of in an anthology. And the picture reminded me of my college days, my friends and my wonderful English teacher Mrs. Shah.

Now type in your name in search box and see where it takes you. Please tag it with so that we can read all related posts.

What a nice little story. I do remember the different search challenges. Like the Captcha challenge. They were fun to do.
