So much for $300... is it worth the effort?

I'm currently working on a freelance assignment. I have done a little.

It will earn me $300 and that's the highest I've been paid by this client.

Problem is, I'm suffering because I work in the day and only can tackle the darn thing at night.

Others who know about it probably envy me as it's a movie script that needs polishing in English. "Wow, movie!"

But it ain't entertainment, it's work.

And I feel so sleepy after dinner.

Thinking of how I could relax and watch TV, or read up on how to invest for my future, I really ought to get this assignment over and out.

After Persona-Papering this post, I will dutifully go back to it.

Speaking of which, the deadline is in a few days and I have more than a thousand lines to go.

I'm praying that the original script isn't too bad (the thing is in Japanese - if I don't understand the translation, I need to look at the Japanese script which can be ouch).

Have you taken on any freelance assignments that require you to sit in front of the PC after a day of sitting in front of the PC?

It's torture! Maybe not even worth $300 :p

No I dont do any work like that.

It depends on how badly you need the $300. If it is critical then you have to force yourself to perform the task.

I could use $300. I need to take my car in for service. *sigh* But I don't speak, read or have a clue about the Japanese language.

I'm sorry that you're having a hard time with this. I hope you are able to get through this. Good luck!

If I could do something like that, I would do it because every dollar counts. I always need extra money.

Oh, you so have my sympathies! Last time I earned that amount from an assignment was when I had to transcribe an entire handwritten movie script and then get it bound and burned to CD. Never, ever, ever was so wooden a forest would have blushed in shame at being compared to it.

Hmm, maybe then you'd have better luck doing work on Elance or Odesk? Japanese isn't an easy language to master but if you're familiar with Chinese, it might be easier for you.

I have done transcription too! It was pretty, pretty painful. And I did that for free *.* I hope you were paid handsomely.

Oh, indeed I was. It was also a very good way of filling time between two contracts as well. Not that I'd choose to do it again, mind!

I've done some freelance ghost writing jobs but none that paid as much as $300. That is quite a lot of money. But if you feel that your rest is more important then perhaps it might not be worth it.
