Major savings on prescription eyeglasses

A few years ago I broke down and bought my first pair of prescription sunglasses. Prior to that time I was a clip on guy. That’s right, those geeky clip-ons. Unfortunately I am not a geek, just cheap.

Anyway I bought a pair of Ray Ban glasses which are supposed to be pretty good. I had them polarized and treated for scratch resistance. Well they served me well until last year when something on the lens started bubbling up. I took them back to Lenscrafters and they said they would make me a new pair for another $300. I said no thank you and went on my way.

A few months after that I discovered an online eyeglass store called Eyebuydirect and decided to try them out. I ordered a pair of prescription computer glasses for $25. I must admit I was not expecting much, but when I received them I was very pleasantly surprised with a top notch pair of glasses.

Now let’s move ahead a few months and I have now bought a total of 3 pairs of glasses from them including a new pair of polarized sunglasses at a third the price.

If you wear prescription glasses I encourage you to give them a try. I am willing to bet you will be very pleased with what you get.

Thanks for letting us know. I will check if they send glasses outside the United States.

We bought ZeniOptical which is online and got 4 pairs of glasses for $200. Sunglasses and regular glasses for the both of us. Mine are progressives and they work great.

We will check them out. We just had something funky happen with Lenscrafters, not his sunglasses (which are RayBans too) but his eyeglasses - raybans, some weird build up. He lived with it like that for months, kept getting worse. They replaced them for free but did give a bit of guilt and blah blah about what HE did to cause it - pfft. Anyway, thanks for this :)

My husband ordered glasses through them and hated the glasses and sent them back. Of course he didn't show them to me before he ordered them....The problem wasn't with the company, it was with the frames he chose.

Eyebuydirect has to be the most clever name for an online eyewear store. Kudos to whoever came up with that name. And apparently they're a great store, too!
