A day off work

So today was my day off work from both jobs and as always I am forced to get all those things done that I can't when I am working.

My day off consists of going to the bank, grocery shopping, getting gas in the car, going to the post office, and such things. I did do something I don't do very often. I drove out of my way to go to an old favorite, hot dog stand for lunch. I use to go there all the time and was surprised to see the owner still working the counter and was really surprised that he still knew my name and it has been close to 2 years since i have been in there. That was one of the things that I really liked about the place is the guy is really nice and he remembers all his regular customers. It's something that is slowly dieing in this country, businesses that actually know you and treat you like a customer and not just another dollar in their pocket.

Well I got all that done and got home before the rain started and well it's been none stop rain for the last couple hours. Glad I got back in before the rain.

I think everyone who works a 5-day week does just about the same thing on their days off -- running errands, doing laundry, catching up on housework. It used to be that I didn't know which I looked forward to more -- the work week or the days off.

When I was working full time, I never had a set schedule. It was pretty much catch as catch could. It's nice now to be able to sleep seven hours a night, get up when I want, and go to the bank when I need to. I remember all too well having to schedule things like grocery shopping and going to the post office.

Right, it kind of sucks to have to schedule your day off, full of things you really don't want to do anyway :)
