Deadlines

It's getting harder and harder to keep my online commitments. I'm somewhat ready to have the new beds delivered, but it's been almost a month and they've not yet called with a delivery date. Meanwhile, I've had to keep one room I normally store things in clear so my bed can be moved into it and the bed currently in the space where my old bed is going moved out. I'll have to call again, but I won't have time to have the beds delivered until after Wednesday.

Why? Because an appraiser is visiting our Templeton house late Wednesday afternoon and it needs a lot of work only I can do before then. That, again, means moving stuff somewhere, and I don't yet know where somewhere will be. My husband had forgotten that one upstairs bedroom lacks half a carpet. We had to cut that out in 2009 when we had to treat the floor for termites. We still wound up having to tent the house, but repairs to the rest of the room still haven't been finished. To complicate matters, there is still a lot of furniture and many boxes of books in that room I still have to list for donation before I can get rid of them, and all that would have to be moved before someone could install carpet. I suppose it could all be carried out to the balcony during carpet installation and moved back in, but I would almost bet that's the day our rainy season would start.

Meanwhile, we have to arrange to have two beds taken away somewhere when the new ones are delivered and set up. Maybe it's not too late to have the mattress factory take the old ones. I want everything taken care of before I have my first cataract removed on October 28. I will have to rest after that on my new bed.

It doesn't look like I'll get much rest before that. I should be dealing with all the editbots HubPages decided to install on our hubs. I should also be writing ahead and scheduling my City Daily Blog posts for the days preceding and following surgery, since I don't know how soon I've be back at the computer. I'm having my other eye done on November 11. Looks like I'll have to give up reading fiction until all is done.

Between now and my surgery I also have two other medical appointments and an overnight trip to Los Angeles for a church reunion. Maybe we'll even be gone two nights. Meanwhile, all but one of my own blogs is suffering from my neglect. I'm doing almost no social networking except trying to keep my Facebook blog page current and participate in two of my Facebook writing groups. This is one year I'm looking forward to the arrival of December.

Don't you love having to wait on someone else before you can proceed with the other things that need doing?

I also have a lot of edibots on my hubs. How are we supposed to be dealing with them?

I don't envy you with all that must be done, and it's yours to do. How about audiobooks while you're recovering from cataract surgery?

You will now have to look at all your activities and see if you are really doing more than what you can chew.

BarbRad wrote on September 28, 2015, 2:46 AM

Not very much.

BarbRad wrote on September 28, 2015, 2:47 AM

It's kind of confusing. Have you checked your notifications and email newletters from HubPages? I don't think I've got time or enough confidence to explain it here.

BarbRad wrote on September 28, 2015, 2:48 AM

I may just watch TV or sit and think. I don't get enough time to just think.

BarbRad wrote on September 28, 2015, 2:49 AM

I definitely do have more than I can chew, but as they say, I made my bed years ago not realizing how it would feel to lie in it.

Paulie wrote on September 28, 2015, 3:10 AM

No, I haven't checked yet, but it would probably be a good thing to do so.

Funny when you are talking of real beds here. Anyway not that there will be dire consequences if you withdrew here and there?

You have too much on your plate lately. If my memory serves me well ,you have hired a person, don't you get him to do something ? I can't get what you said "rainy season would start".Isn't it your autumn time ?

You do have a lot going on and a short time to do it! I hope you get everything accomplished and that the surgery goes well. Can you remind me again how to do tags here. I thought it was the plus sign in front of the words but that didn't work when I tried yesterday.

Sounds like you have lots of stuff on your plate! Good luck in getting all those things done.

AliCanary wrote on September 29, 2015, 9:45 AM

Oh my, it sounds like such a lot of work. I would feel just smashed flat contemplating all that.

paigea wrote on September 30, 2015, 4:09 PM

You do sound busy and overwhelmed. I hope you get things done!

Our rainy season starts in October and ends around May -- at least in normal years. We hire people by the job, but they don't always arrive when they say they will.

BarbRad wrote on October 1, 2015, 5:21 AM

That was on Bubblews. Here one uses the # sign.

BarbRad wrote on October 1, 2015, 5:22 AM

I'm making progress. I'm really tired tonight.

BarbRad wrote on October 1, 2015, 5:23 AM

Believe me, doing it smashes you flatter than just contemplating it.

BarbRad wrote on October 1, 2015, 5:24 AM

Got something done and that deadline is over. I didn't get everything done, but I don't know if the things I didn't get done will make any difference in the long run.

AngelSharum wrote on October 1, 2015, 6:58 PM

Thank you! I couldn't remember that for anything.
