Work Ethic

Just as Japan applied themselves to take advantage of South Africa's lower than usual standard of play in the Rugby World Cup yesterday, so have I been doing this weekend.
The Other Site was down for maintenance when I looked in yesterday morning, so, wanting a quiet start to the weekend, I made myself the first of several mugs of tea and applied myself to the eBay listings after catching up here.
I spent most of the day listing items on eBay, tweaking existing listings and relisting the sales which had fallen off the page in the last few days.
During the course of the day I sold SIX items. Four of them were newly listed and one was something I'd almost given up hope of selling.
At one point it seemed as if for every item I was listing, another would sell. My works post room staff are going to be busy tomorrow, that's for sure.
After a delicious roast dinner, the Other Site was up again so I spent some time there reading and commenting before finally going to bed and catching up with the news headlines before sleep.
Today, so far, I have been busy cleaning. Guess what, the Other Site is down again, so once again I am using it to my advantage. The bathroom has just had a severe seeing to, as I washed the walls, cleaned all the surfaces and the various fittings, hoovered the floor and generally had a good tidy up. I'll tie up the bin liner later and Mr C can take it out to the dustbin when he gets back from church.
The broom is now poised to make like a prop from Night on a Bare Mountain here in the lounge and I'm going to list a few more eBay items, finish my tea and then go and deal harshly with the bedroom. There is laundry all over that room, dirty and clean, and if I don't move it, I just know it will be providing des res for arachnids before long. We have already had two large ones up there this month, so who knows how many more there may be. I'll clean the room then spray the Spider Stop around to give them a gentle hint.
Meantime, back to the eBay, with half an eye on the rugby results.

Hope today goes as good for you as yesterday. Have a good morning

Afternoon here now, and the hall and bedroom have just been hoovered. I'm about to take the latest cuppa upstairs and make a start on sorting out the laundry pile. Then I can finish off the stairs and Mr C can take the rubbish out while I'm cleaning the hob and mopping the laminate.
Thanks for the good wishes. I need them. Housework is good hard physical toil the way I do it.

You are industrious! It'd be grand if you had several eBay items sell today, too.

Still three more items ending today and most of the 60 or so which are up at the moment are buy it now, so anything's possible. Never knew mother-in-law and I could find quite so much clutter to sell on eBay! It's over 2 years since I started this and it doesn't look as if I have cleared ANYTHING in the loft or conservatory.
The bedroom is now tidy, the hall and stairs hoovered, the lounge and kitchen swept. I even managed to get the cleaner into the conservatory and have a bit of a clean up around there too, whilst locating the eBay items which had sold. And catching arachnids. My husband failed miserably at that mission this afternoon. I hoovered up not only the one he went after at my behest, but also another one which tried to make a run for it. He can empty the cleaner before I use it next time.

What do you sell on Ebay? Do you have a store?
I used to use Ebay years ago, when it was still much like an online garage sale. I have considered trying to do things again there, but I fear that it would get lost in all the "big business" that Ebay seems to have become. Glad things are selling for you there!

I'm having a massive decluttering session of everything I don't need, use or wear any more as well as listing a fair contribution from my mother-in-law (who hoards clothes) and the occasional item from my parents who are slightly bemused by the whole thing. I've been at it since May 2013 and there are still heaps of items to list and sell yet. Ebay reckon the average house has £4,000 of unwanted items in it. This is not the average house.

What is your user name there? I am "nomoretopramen" and haven't sold anything there for several years.

I wish I had your energy, our bedroom is a total tip but I cant get to it right now because I started on the spare room and haven't finished yet! They are supposed to be coming to paint it, well they were supposed to be coming the first week in September anyway that's the work finally starting after the fire in the building two and a half years ago. I had planned to have the spare room totally gutted before they started so it was just a case of shifting the furniture - guess what, I did that thing where you pull everything out and it somehow looks worse and just never got around to finishing it. Thankfully it doesn't look like they are going to turn up any time soon and I have a few weeks off after I finish up on Wednesday so plenty of time to get it done I guess.

You're still listed though. You have 91 feedbak score and have been a member since 2000. I'm Rainbowchazer with a basic shop of around 65 items at the moment unless someone's bought something else just now. I still need to pack three of them tonight before sleep so I had better go and do that sharpish.

It's not a case of energy, it's a case of need. I must get my paperwork into order, because I keep losing important information in the drifts of paperwork as it is. I'm also not the biggest fan of insects on the planet, so if I can give them fewer places to hide, that's a good thing too.
Housefires are also a major worry of mine, especially given the amount of things in this house and the fact that it's a mid-terrace property. Plus, it's easier to clean if there's less clutter. I'm not quite heading for minimalist, but definitely need a bit of clearance to quiet my soul and stop worrying about where everything is.

You certainlyknow how to keep yourself busy every day.

I try, Paulie . The only time I am not busy is when I'm ill. Otherwise I'm writing, reading, working or gaming. And occasionally dreaming too.

I would think WordChazer that the days pass by very quickly for you.
