A Freeware Fanatic

Some people would say that I may be one of the world's most fanatical of people when it comes to using free software, freeware and open source software. But, quite frankly, I just cannot help myself. There are just so many good pieces of free software on the web that I could probably be testing for the rest of my life. I am joking of course, or am I?

While writing this post I am using an old piece of freeware called YEDIT. Why do I continue to use it? For me the answer is a simple one. It allows me to track my word count of any post or article that I am composing and set targets for each one. At the moment my target is 130 words which should reach the Persona paper minimal requirement of 500 characters. In fact, at this moment I am 17 over my target.

When it comes to freeware, I would suggest to anybody and everybody, "Make use of them wherever you can and quit paying for high priced software that do the same thing."

I appreciated reading of this. I don't think most of us are aware of all the software out there that is free.

If I may make a suggestion: If you were to put your article in the submit box at 14 pt font, it will post a bit larger (not as large as it shows to you in submit, though) than what yours did, and will make it easier for those of us who are older to read.

I apologize for the font size but I am not yet used to having to change the font. I will attempt to remember that in the future. I am so used to the sites where it automatically reverts to their default font and size. Thanks for the heads up.

It's an easy edit right from this page. I've found the 14 on the submission works out well. The default goes smaller than that of the comments!
